Your kid-friendly walking tour of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome starts near Trajan’s Column, where you’ll meet your guide and other members of the group, from kids to parents to grandparents. While you walk, participate in specially designed activities to keep your kids entertained and engaged, such as small challenges and role playing. These have been created by your guide, an early childhood educational specialist.
Take a look at Trajan’s Market, and hear tales about what life was like in Ancient Rome. As you visit the Roman Forum, once the heart of the city, admire ruins such as the Temple of Caesar. Stories about the power and influence of Imperial Rome are accompanied by visual aids to help spark imaginations.
Next, walk over to the Colosseum, Rome’s most iconic ancient site. Sail past the entrance line with your skip-the-line ticket, and go inside to tour the ground level of the arena with your guide. Hear tales about the different characters who made up the Colosseum’s ancient history of power and battle, from the emperors to the gladiators to the lions. Participation is encouraged, so don’t be afraid to ask any questions you have and get your kids involved in the interactive experience.
After about 40 minutes in the Colosseum, head outside, where your tour ends.
