Day One: Alcatraz Island
Pick-up your voucher at Pier 41 and meet 30 minutes prior to your designated time at Pier 33 to catch the ferry to Alcatraz Island. The short ride offers panoramic views of the city skyline and San Francisco Bay before docking at the small island, which has been the site for a Civil War-era fort, a military prison, and the famous federal penitentiary.

Check the daily schedule for timing of the excellent free guided tours offered by the National Park Service rangers. Your package includes round-trip ferry tickets, an audio tour, and orientation film. Spend as much time as you like before returning on the ferry to Pier 33.

Day Two: Sonoma and Napa wine tour
Board your luxury coach in the morning after pickup at your San Francisco hotel.

Soak in the views on a scenic 1.5-hour drive north over the Golden Gate Bridge to wine country. Travel in comfort on a coach equipped with reclining seats, Wi-Fi, and a restroom, and learn from the guide about northern California's wine making history.

Upon arrival, visit three boutique and large-scale wineries for tastings and guided tours of the vineyards and grounds. See how the grapes are harvested, crushed, fermented, and bottled, and then head to the tasting room for samples of the wines.

In Sonoma Valley, stop into Nicholson Ranch Winery, a family-owned artisan winery that specializes in pinot noir, merlot, chardonnay, and Syrah. Continue to nearby Napa Valley for a tour and tasting at Madonna Estate, located in the renowned Carneros region. The family-owned winery uses organic farming methods in its vineyards, and both traditional and modern techniques for wine making.

Stop in Sonoma Square Plaza for lunch (own expense).

After lunch, continue to Sutter Home, established in the late 1800s and known for white zinfandel. When your last tasting is complete, return to San Francisco where your tour ends.

Please note: When booking, choose the date that you want to visit Alcatraz Island. For day two, winery locations and itinerary may change due to traffic or a previously booked special event at the location.

The actual experience of the wine tour was bad. It was the rest of the experience that makes me rate this low. To start with when I got the email about confirmation I called to confirmed. When I made that call There was inconsistency with my email confirmation and what the person on the phone told me. Once it was finalized it was determined that on day one I would be visiting Alcatraz and day two wine tour. When I asked about where and when to check in for Alcatraz the person on the phone could not give me a time and transferred me to a second person. Once talking to the second person I was still
unsure of when to check in. I had my spouse call and he got a different answer about when and where to check in. We decided to stop by the day before and ask about check in and while we were there the lady at the desk told use one thing different from the first two calls and then a second guy came and told us to arrive at 830 the next morning and they would put us on a bus to the pier. We arrived at 830 and were told to come back at 955 for a bus. We came back at 940. Once we arrive the people there told us that we missed the bus and we could take the city trolley. We did make it to Alcatraz and we enjoyed the experience. Day 2 we arrived and the place felt unorganized. It took awhile to board the bus but once we were on we were able to enjoy most of the wine tour. The only complaint I have about the tour was when we stopped in the town for lunch we had a hour and thirty minutes and all the restaurants had a hour wait. I know that tour company can't control that but it was the only opportunity to have lunch and it was stressful finding food. We liked our tour guide and we learned something new at each stop.
