Wonderful & Informative Tour
, Nov 2018
This tour of Shanghai exceeded my expectations. Penny met me on time at my hotel and immediately set out to discover my interests and hopes for the tour. The entire tour was comfortably paced and seamlessly organized. We interacted with people in the park or on the street as appropriate and elements of the city really came to life. Penny proved impressively knowledgable about the history of Shanhai and she clearly enjoys sharing stories of the city. The food and conversation over lunch were both delightful. I heartily recommend this tour for anyone interested in a six-hour journey into this lovely and surprising city.

I thoroughly enjoyed my customised tour of colonial Shanghai with Penny, who is a knowledgeable and wonderful tour guide. My tour did not follow the stated itinerary strictly because I have been to Shanghai a few times before and have seen some places which I didn't want to revisit. Penny was extremely obliging in tailoring the tour to my interests, changing the itinerary to fit in the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum in addition to the other stops listed on the usual itinerary. I particularly enjoyed lunch at Lost Heaven restaurant near the Bund as it was different from other kinds of Chinese food I have eaten. Penny is one of the best tour guides I've ever had and I highly recommend her!

This was a wonderful experience of the old and the new Shanghai if you've never experienced the contrasting differences. Kelly was our guide and made every effort to ensure we had all we need to make the day memorable. The only comment I have is for the local driver assigned to the guide..the driver need to be cautioned that not all their guest don't understand Chinese language. The driver assumed I didn't understand ANY Chinese and had made rude comments about us in Chinese regarding how we were being difficult in shopping for certain items and again about how we look Chinese therefore it was @?! left out the curse word that we didn't know our native tongue. We didn't let that ruined our day but it was unnecessary to hear. They just need to remain professional at all times.
