Our hotel pick up was on time and friendly the guys from K-York Travel, and took us to the venue Asian Square Restaurant. The day started with a trip to the market to have a look around. For a Western squeamish person, this could be confronting but it is simply the way it is. We possibly didnt get as much information about what was on offer but it was noisy so maybe that is just the reality. The cooking part 3 courses was fun and well constructed, and we consumed the fruit of our labours in the air conditioned restaurant. Overall, we consider it was good value, good fun and good food can we claim credit for the last one?. The only reason not 5 star was possibly just the unfortunate fact that our group of 4 were the only participants off season so we missed the social aspect of the experience. Not the fault of anyone.

The brief morning walk through the local market was interesting and the chef kindly answered all our questions about local ingredients. We learned how to make three dishes - a green mango salad, a chicken red curry and a dessert made of glutinous flour and palm sugar. It was an amazing experience and we thought it was special as there were only the two of us that morning. We truly appreciate the assistance and attention the local agency, K-York, had provided us.

My family and I did this cooking class recently during out trip to Siem Reap. We first visited the Old Market, all of which are generally phenomenal and fun. This was optional, because they have already gathered the supplies to be used in the cooking class prior. Our work stations were clean and air conditioned. Two people were assigned one cook and one station. We were given recipe booklets and later certificates of completion that commemorated our experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole program had a lot of attention to detail and great service. We sat down to eat our creations and were provided with table service and additional rice and drinks per our request though I'm pretty sure the kitchen was not open. Overall an essential experience in tasting Khmer culture.

This was a great class. All the people involved, the guides, chefs etc were super friendly. We were picked up in rickshaws from our hotel and taken to the restaurant. We then went to the market to visit and see where all our ingrédients were coming from. It is a beautiful market for food and other things too! We then went back and were shown what we were going to cook and how we were going to cook it. We were given our cookbooks, hats and aprons and got started. We prepared the green mango salade, chicken curry and a delicous coconut cream dessert. This was a birthday event for our 14yr old son. We all loved it. We then sat down and dined in their restaurant. We had made so much food! It was all delicious. After lunch the rickshaws were waiting to take us back to our hotel but we wanted to explore again the Siem Reap market to buy some of the ingrédients to take back home with us. It was a great day! I highly recommend this outing!

It was a very enjoyable morning. The market was interesting and the chef was a good instructor. The meals that I cooked were green mango salad, chicken curry and sticky rice dumplings all of which were delicious. I would recommend this tour to others visiting Siem Reap.
