Breath taking views and a nice hike to get there. I should have brought a towel to go swimming in the cold glacier lake

Excellent views

Lovely views of the glacier. We had time to walk all the way up which took around 40 mins and had a bit of time at the end to look around the shop. Make sure you wear suitable footwear as its a very uneven gravel track
On the way back stopped at a hotel for coffee and a pastry.

Stunning Briksdal Glacier

Great excursion. Well organised. Eaiting on the dock when we left the cruise ship. The glacier is stunning. Hike up was fairly even and takes about 45 mins one way. Price is good compared to the Royal Caribbean own trip.

We had a great visit to Briksdal Glacier with Viator, our guide, Julia?, was very friendly and knowledgeable.
The only slight criticism we had was that we felt that when we left our ship to find the tour coach it could have been more prominently displayed.
A lot of people on board felt the same.

Hike to Briksdal Glacier!

Beautiful day to see the Briksdal Glacier.
The hike up was a little strenuous for me, but I did make a few stops along the way to enjoy the scenery.

If you were an olden you must see the glacier!

When you are in olden you must see the glaciers. They are breathtaking. We chose to walk up the mountain. It was a long walk and it was great exercise. You should be in pretty good shape to do this. If not choose another via tour option with a ride up in a jeep.. The glacier is incredible and it should not be missed.

Use a local bus instead for £10

I would give the Birksdal glacier 100000 out of 100 as it’s unbelievably beautiful. It’s definitely a must-do. The low rating for this tour has to do with the price.
I realised only after getting there, that at £10 each way you can get a bus to take you to the glacier and back.
When we did this tour, the tour guide wasn’t with us at the glacier. We were expected to do it independently. So you are paying this massive amount only to be transported to the glacier parking lot and back. Not worth it.
There are tons of buses outside the port. Just hop on to one of those.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. While obviously not as cheap as taking the public bus, we are competitively priced when compared to the high price of the cruise ship excursions. Our tours have knowledgeable guides who do the hike with you. They provide a wealth of information along the hike. As it is a hike however, people hike at different paces and it is possible that you could go for a stretch without the guide next to you. Nevertheless, we're happy to hear that you enjoyed the beauty of the area and wish you safe travels home.
