Spend a few action-packed hours touring the rugged countryside of Saint Kitts by ATV (all-terrain vehicle), enjoying magnificent scenery and a stop at a historic sugar plantation and textile center, during this 3-hour ride. This shore excursion is the perfect blend of adventure, culture and natural scenery during your short stopover on this beautiful Caribbean island.
Begin the trip with a pickup at the cruise ship port in Saint Kitts, continuing to a local ATV shop where you’ll rendezvous with your guide for the day. Get kitted out with a helmet and goggles and listen to a safety briefing and instructions to operate your off-road vehicle. Then hit the throttle and head into the Saint Kitts countryside.
Trace the path of your guide as you start your trip, following a trail that’s been tailored to the experience level of your group. You’ll move more quickly or slowly based on how well the participants are handling the terrain. Riders of all levels of experience are welcome. Kick up a little mud as you wind your way along the rolling trails, zooming along lush sugar cane fields.
As you drive you’ll also pass a historic sugar plantation, at which point your guide will share insights about the history of the island’s sugar industry. Continue riding until you reach the Wingfield Estate, located in the foothills of the island’s central mountain range. This beautiful estate is set among a collection of beautiful gardens which host a wealth of plant life.
Spend some time exploring the estate’s 17th century relics, which were used in the manufacture of refined sugar and rum. Interestingly, the estate is considered the first English settlement in the Caribbean and was owned by an ancestor of US President Thomas Jefferson.
Then motor your way to your last stop at Caribelle Batik, located just next door to Wingfield Estate. This textile center features the work of local artisans, who produce a special fabric called batik (a specially-dyed fabric in colorful patterns). Watch the artisans at work and feel free to purchase a few items.
Following your stop at Caribelle Batik, you’ll make your way back to the ATV shop, where you’ll receive a ride back to the port.

An 'exciting' ride from the town to the outskirts arriving on the side of a mountain with view to die for - after a wee bit of training (for our less experienced rider) - we were off ! .... travelling thru plantation undergrowth and trails ..with our first stop at a Batik making setup halfway up the mountain ... then onward to higher ground thru good trails easily managed .. with more views and lots of photo opportunity ... with a good 2 hours spent on the bikes ...a well earned beer at the end .. our guide Ivan was great ...highly recommend this tour

Great trip out on the ATV's around St Kitts with some fabulous views. Ground very rough in places, but adds to the fun. You'll get very dusty, but there is plenty of water on hand. A must-do trip if you visit St. Kitts.

I really enjoyed this tour, up until the point that the tour guide signaled for me to stop, and then let everyone else pass me. When I asked him if I did something wrong, he said he wanted to give everyone a chance to experience being in the front. But this simply wasn't true, as I remained in the back for the rest of the tour and no one else was moved to the front. He put a mom and her small son in the front of the tour, and we were forced to go so slow because of this. If kids are on the tour, the guide should ask the families to ride in the back so others are still able to go at a fun pace. i also found the guide to be rude.

The St Kitss Shore Excursion was great! It started with being picked up right at the cruise port by our friendly driver and being taken to their lot where the quads were waiting for us. We were given helmets and goggles and warned that there could be some sand in our mouths - I read that we were advised to bring along bandanas for this purpose, but we didn't need them. After a good orientation on the quads and practice around the lot, we were off and running! We took it very slow because of the rough terrain and that was fine with us. Be careful - as there was at least one really rough spot where there were large rocks as we were turning to go downhill. We all safely returned and were taken back to the port. It rained a bit in the rainforest so pack a light jacket if you think you might need it. I am a 60 year old woman who had a great time. I can now check it off my bucket list!!

Really enjoyed this excursion. It was a small group and we could ask lots of questions. The training was easy and it was a lot of fun.

Elvis was waiting for us as soon as we got off our ship. A short drive to pick up 2 others at another ship then a 15 minute drive to the ATV compound. Our guide was Elvin. REQUEST ELVIN. Wonderful young man. Neither my wife age 60 nor myself have ever been on an ATV. My wife took to it immediately. They have a small track that they have you go on before the tour to make sure you are comfortable with the ATV. The ATV is automatic with both a hand brake and handlebar brakes. You accelerate with a button on the handlebar. Elvin kept a sharp eye on us to make sure we were all OK throughout the tour. The trail is a dirt trail through the mountain. The views of the water, volcano and mountain was breathtaking. Elvin stopped to let us take pictures when we asked. We stopped at an abandoned sugar mill where Elvin gave us a tour of the structure and local flora. It was 2 hours on the ATV at places you needed an ATV to get to. Don't let the fact that you have never been on an ATV stop you. My wife age 60, had a smile that was on her face for the entire 2 hours. IT WAS A BALL. Afterwards, Elvis took the other couple to a beach wish we knew about that and took us back to the ship. A great time was had by all. Go Go Go. Worth every cent.

Great experience. Our tour guide, Manners, is a very nice young man that wanted us to have a good time.
He was serious about his responsibilities but also was fun to be around.
