Overview

When exploring the heart of the city, it's easy to forget that Stockholm is part of an archipelago of around 30,000 islands. Get a better perspective on this aspect of the region by embarking on a kayaking tour. Paddle the Baltic Sea around small island groups, taking in the views, and abundant birdlife and ancient fortresses, along the way. Make a stop for an included lunch on a private island, as well as a fika break for coffee and pastries.
  • Get a different perspective on the Stockholm archipelago, from the water
  • Small-group tour—usually 3-4 guests per guide—ensures a more intimate experience
  • Includes lunch, served on a private island, and "fika" (coffee and pastries)
  • Get insights into the thousands of islands and abundant wildlife around the archipelago from your guide

Ben, our tour guide, made this tour such an amazing experience! His love and knowledge of the outdoors was very refreshing. We had about 7 people on our tour and Ben did a great job of keeping everyone together and engaged. After a quick but thorough brief on how to operate the kayaks we got in the water and paddled around for a bit until everyone was feeling comfortable. We then kayaked for around 30 minutes where we reached our first stop with a beautiful view of the neighboring islands. We had warm fruit juice and pastries which were both delicious and really hit the spot. Afterwards we kayaked for another 45 minutes or so until we reached the island where we would have lunch. Prior to eating Ben took us on a short hike not demanding at all that lead to breathtaking views of the Stockholm archipelago, all the while explaining the local flora. After the hike we were more than ready for lunch, which consisted of a smoked salmon fillet over a salad, bread, and either water or more of the delicious warm fruit juice. After lunch we laid out on the rocks for a bit to soak up the sun and more beautiful views. After resting up we kayaked back to the launch point at a nice leisurely pace. Overall this tour was a fantastic way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and really enjoy nature while enjoying great food and great company. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Stockholm. Thanks again Ben for an amazing experience!
