Make your own way to the wharf at Puerto de Los Gigantes to begin your kayak tour in Tenerife. After a short lesson on how to paddle and steer your kayak, hop aboard and set out along the Atlantic coast.
Gaze up at the dramatic sea cliffs as you paddle your way along the coast, beneath the towering Los Gigantes, which reach up to 1,640 feet (500 meters) at their highest point and are best viewed from the sea. Listen as your guide explains the island’s volcanic history and how it led to the formation of steep cliffs, lava fields, craters and black sand beaches.
After around 40 minutes of kayaking, arrive at the tranquil pebble beach of Barranco Seco, where you’ll pause to enjoy a cool beer or soft drink, looking out to sea. Before setting off back to the port, dive in to swim and snorkel along the shore.
If you’ve chosen the whale watching option, you’ll transfer to a boat after arriving back in Los Gigantes, then set sail in search of pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. Alternatively, end your tour at Puerto de Los Gigantes and make your own way back to your hotel.
