What To Expect

Awaken your taste buds on this 3-hour food walking tour in Toronto’s bohemian neighborhood of Kensington Market. Recognized in 2006 as a national historic site, Kensington Market, surrounded by Little Italy and Chinatown, has come a long way since its beginnings as a British war hero's estate. The area once served as a hub of Jewish worship, trade, and commerce.

Without a doubt, these are some of the most multicultural few blocks that you will find in the city. After providing some background on Toronto history, your guide will take you to six different places to sample Caribbean, Latin American, and Canadian comfort food.

First, try a Torontonian snack favorite that comes in over 50 flavors — your guide will even buy you a bag of your favorite flavor to take home! Next, enjoy a brief photo-op with the downtown Toronto skyline as your backdrop.

Then, sample Toronto's latest food trend before heading to a hole-in-the-wall run by a husband-and-wife team and try what many locals call the best jerk chicken in the city.

Feast on authentic Mexican tacos, along with frozen margaritas, at the Lopez family's restaurant. To satisfy your sweet tooth, stop by a bakery whose owner has been baking pies since she was nine. Last but not least, it's off to find that secret bar and sip a local craft beer or glass of Ontario wine.

What a great way to spend a cold Dec. Saturday afternoon! Ariel our guide was very accommodating, friendly, informative and fun. He introduced us to new foods, interesting and delicious hole-in-the-wall places that all the locals seem to know about but were wonderful new adventures for us. Thank you for a great time! Susan, Jim, Garry, Anne, Judy and Dave.
