Discover Tierra del Fuego National Park and its spectacular scenery on this half-day excursion from Ushaia. The world's southernmost national park features glaciers, lakes, mountains and abundant wildlife. Choose one of two Tierra del Fuego tours: explore by vehicle or via the End of the World Train.
  • Tierra del Fuego half-day tour from Ushuaia
  • Explore Tierra del Fuego either by train or by vehicle
  • Enjoy breathtaking Patagonian scenery
  • Complimentary hotel pickup and drop-off
After pickup from your hotel in Ushaia, you'll travel the short 7 miles (11 km) to Tierra del Fuego National Park, watching the scenery change as you pass the urban outskirts. Pass beautiful bodies of Patagonian water and soon come upon the majestic Mt Susana. The old prison, now the site of the End of the World Train, will mark the departure point for the vehicle or train option.

End of the World Train Option:
Board the train and enjoy the views as the railway takes you across peat bogs and bridges before making a stop at Macarena Waterfall Station where you'll learn about the region's indigenous people, the Yamana. Climb to a scenic viewpoint, then continue your sightseeing train journey through the park, ending up at the old saw mill.

Continue your excursion towards glimmering Ensenada Bay, where you'll see the rocky Redonda and Estorbo Islands, as well as the majestic, snowy Sampaio Mountains. At Roca Lake, meander along the gushing Lapataia River towards Condor Hill, then stop at the otherworldly Green and Black Lagoons. After your adventure has finished, you'll be dropped back at your hotel in Ushaia.

Vehicle Option:
After spending time in the now-defunct prison turned End of the World Train Station, drive through the scenic valley towards Ensenada Bay. View the Sampaio Mountains and the Redonda and Estorbo Islands. Your next stop is Roca Lake and a journey on foot along the Lapataia River towards Condor Hill. After moving on to see the Green Lagoon and Black Lagoon, visit a growing peat bog. When your excursion is over, you'll be returned to your Ushaia hotel.

This was a good tour for those with limited time to enjoy the national park. The guide was very knowledgeable and helped us understand some of the history and ecology of the area.

Enjoyable outing, although hotel failed to pass on later pick-up message. Good informative guide on coach. Train bit touristy as expected, but well-organised and good on-board commentary. Later guided walk and tour to lakes added to experience and knowledge of the region.

Fantastic trip. The Train ride was the highlight. Would have been nice if the tour pre-purchased our tickets for us so that we don't have to waste time queuing up for the tickets and not have enough time to look at the station and exhibits which looked very interesting.

great scenery in natl park, guide was knowledgable and very pleasant, but spoke in both spanish and english as it was a large group. did not explain that train ride was optional, so people were not aware of the option

It started off on the wrong foot. I was told that I would be picked up in the morning at my hotel but the night before the hotel received a call that I now needed to make my way into town to be picked up at a central place. This was an added 20 USD price for me as I was staying outside of town and needed to now take a taxi. As for the park tour - I was expecting that by spending a half day in the park you would spend time in the park walking, hiking. There was a total of 35 minutes allotted for walking in the park - the rest was driving around. Last but not least it was an 'English guided tour' unfortunately the majority of details were given in Spanish - the English version was significantly trimmed town to bare bones comments. We were actually asked while at the main lookout point reviewing the map if we needed to hear the English version or if the Spanish version was good enough?
Overall thoughts are that it was very expensive for what you got. Would recommend that you book in town or hire a taxi to take you there and pick you up. Will cost much less and the experience probably much greater, unless riding buses is your thing.

This was a lovely tour with beautiful scenery and a guided walk through the park as well as some free time to take pictures and get a PENGUIN stamp on our passport at the END OF THE WORLD little post office. I didn't do the optional train cannot speak to it.

I only had one day to see the national park so this was a good way to get an overview. I did not do the train ride beaus I felt I would see more of the park without that. We did get out and walk a little bit in a few places which was nice. We weren't just driving past scenery in a bus.

Being at the end of the world is breathtaking to begin with. This train trip and route takes one into some remote areas that the buses can't get to. An superb excursion and highly recommended

There really isn't a lot to see in this park. The train ride was okay.

We opted to not take the train. The tour failed to tell us that though you don't take the train you still have to wait for the other tourists to buy their tickets to get on the train and then wait for them when they get off. I thought we would be completely separate. It was 2.5 hours I before we really got a tour.
