Overview

Make the most of your time in Italy, and visit Venice on an independent day trip from Rome. See the city’s canals, architecture, and landmarks, part of a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Centre. This 14-hour Venice trip includes everything you need for a day of exploring, including round-trip train tickets, tickets to the Basilica di San Marco, and all-day passes to use Venice’s vaporetto ferries.
  • Full-day Venice trip from Rome
  • Travel by high-speed train
  • Enjoy an independent day in the city
  • Explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Admission to the Basilica di San Marco
  • Get around with day-long vaporetto passes
Make your way to Rome’s Termini Train Station for an 8:15 departure—you’ll receive all travel documents by email, so you’ll be ready for the day.
Enjoy views of the Italian countryside during the 3-hour, 20-minute train ride, which also passes through the historic cities of Florence and Bologna. Upon arrival in Venice, you’re free to spend the day exactly as you wish, using the convenient vaporetto ferry system to explore the city.
One highlight of any trip to Venice is Basilica di San Marco, where you’ll find ground-gold mosaics, a richly-decorated interior, and an altar that’s encrusted with a constellation of precious gems. After your time at the Basilica, make the short walk to the Doge’s Palace, or pause in St. Mark’s Square for an espresso in an open-air café. Find a canal-side seat to watch gondolas slide under the Ponte dei Sospiri, or Bridge of Sighs, and take some time to wander the city’s distinctive, narrow streets.
At the end of your day in Venice, return to the train station for the high-speed trip back to Rome, where this excursion concludes.

I wouldn't call this a tour instead a super expensive train ticket to Venice! Our tickets etc were only sent last minute after chasing up on my end.then wouldn't work for water taxis at kiosk. The staff in booth in Venice were not helpful at all. Just a giant waste of money.

You supplied every piece of information anyone would need.
The train was excellent --very clean, big leather seats.
It was easy to convert to boat tickets, map told us where we were
with vaporetta stops. Really nice day!
