Make your way to the dock at First Landing State Park, where you'll meet your guides and listen to a short safety talk and orientation. Get set up with your sit-on-top kayak and your guides will help launch you into the waters of Broad Bay. A small group, limited to 15 people or fewer, ensures an intimate atmosphere and personalized attention from your guide.
Paddle through the unique tidal environment, inhabited by bird life such as ospreys, king fishers, egrets, and blue herons. You may even see bald eagles, cow nose rays, or dolphins.
Once you reach the halfway point, go ashore at the base of an old dune formation for a short hike to a giant osprey nesting ground.
During your paddle back to the dock, check out some oyster beds, including some new ones that are part of a conservation plan for the river basin.
