The majestic Royal Palace of Caserta was built at the behest of King Charles of Bourbon as the new administrative center of the Kingdom of Naples, entrusting the design to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The royal palace was built on the model of the Palace of Versailles, covering an area of about 47,000 square meters, while the grandiose park extends for 3 km. We will visit the Old Apartment, inhabited by Ferdinand IV and Maria Carolina, with its many rooms frescoed by court artists; we will continue with a visit to the Nuovo Apartment, with the imposing throne room where the king received delegations and ambassadors. Pompeii holds an intense fascination for visitors today. After that amazing "walk in the past", we'll reach by car Naples for trying a well-known Neapolitan pizza (lunch not included). Then, after a short sightseeing of the center of Naples, our driver will take us to the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.

Visit the ruins of Herculaneum with an archaeologist
In our three-hour tour of Herculaneum we'll visit together all the highlights of the ancient site, such as House of the Wooden Partition, House of Neptune and Amphitrite, the Forum, the Public Baths, etc. But the particular interest of our visit will be all wooden parts (frameworks, beams, doors, stairs and partitions) that were preserved by a hard shell of solidified mud, whereas at Pompeii they were burnt by fire.
