From Alkmaar we go to the Zaanse Schans. We would not have known the characteristic clatter of wooden clogs on cobblestones without the craftsmen who made this special footwear. Through Old Dutch crafts we also got to know the typical Dutch cheeses and paintwork in Delft blue. Walking along the Zaanse Schans you will come across various craftsmen. Feel free to look over their shoulders; they are happy to show you where the special products come from. Many products are for sale in the shops; a wonderful reminder of our special past.
