Whether you want to soar over the treetops on a zipline, ride a rollercoaster, or hurtle downhill on an alpine sleigh, Alpen Park offers plenty of ways to get your adrenaline fix. The small amusement park makes a fun destination for families and boasts a picturesque location overlooking forested hills.

Though admission to the park is free, each attraction requires a separate tickets. Opt for a passport that grants you unlimited access to all six of the main attractions or purchase pay-as-you-go passes for each ride. Alpen Park is located just outside of Canela, around 68 miles (110 kilometers) northeast of Porto Alegre or an 2-hour drive. There’s no public transport directly to the park, but you can take a taxi from nearby Canela or Gramado.
When to Get There
The park is open daily from 9am-5pm year-round. It can get busy, especially on summer weekends, so either buy your tickets in advance or arrive early to avoid peak lines.
Family Fun in Canela
There’s a surprising number of theme parks and family attractions around Canela and neighboring Gramado. Florybal Magic Park Land has a 7D cinema and rides suited to children under 12, while the Mundo a Vapor is a miniature park devoted to all things steam-powered. In neighboring Gramado, learn to ski and snowboard at the Snowland Park; celebrate Christmas all year round in the Santa’s Village; or see miniature replicas of world-famous landmarks at Mini Mundo park.
