South Coast: Glacier hike, waterfalls & Skyr factory tour

South Coast: Glacier hike, waterfalls & Skyr factory tour

star-5
The South Coast is the home of glaciers, volcanoes, trolls and elves. It is also where the Vikings settled. Most of the glaciers in Iceland are located on the South Coast and on this tour you get the chance to hike on one of them. You also get the chance to visit the first Skyr factory in Iceland. Skyr is the Icelandic yoghurt and it is what Vikings survived on during hard and cold winters. If it would not have been for the Icelandic Skyr, we would not have managed here. Visit also 2 of Icelands most beautiful waterfalls and walk on the big and black beach surrounded by magnificent nature, trolls and rocks. This tour is a small group tour with maximum 12 guests. That makes it way more enjoyable to travel in and creates more personal experience.

Hot and cold G spots challenge

Hot and cold G spots challenge

star-5
Like Ralph Waldo Emerson once said. Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Agenda is as simple as 2 + 2 first we’ll warm up hiking to our farthest destination, before descending into each cave we start with stretching, then exploration time and be ready for some squats, push-ups and more stretching ! More effort you put into these exercises more you’ll see and oh boy take our word for it, there is plenty to see ! Depending on your fit level we’ll see anywhere between 2 to 4 caves. So you’ll get some cardio/ work out day for sure. We do caving often and we know there is nothing better than warm bath after half a day spent underground in humid and cool environment but than again bath sounds sooo boring. Unless you are in Iceland where you can just simply submerge yourself in a natural hot geothermal stream... Found in a beautiful valley up in the mountains, enjoining tasty Icelandic style hot dog prepared with a help of hot springs!

Lovely Leader sheep Experience

Lovely Leader sheep Experience

You´ll get to know the unique Icelandic Leader Sheep. I will take you to our sheep stables, where you will meet the unique Icelandic Leader sheep in person. The Icelandic Leader sheep – is a subpopulation within the Icelandic sheep breed. Nowhere else in the world will you encounter such an animal. It exists only in Iceland – and only in a small quantity. They are friendly, tame and intelligent animals with many colours and distinct characters. I will tell you the history of these animals, their products, how they were used in the past and why there are so few left. During the visit, you'll feed them treats, which I provide, take selfies and groom. I´ll answer your questions and you will have a chance to sit in the pen and cuddle with them. We can assure you that your meeting with the Leader sheep will be woolly, soft, smelly, funny, interesting and awesome. If the weather is good, we will be spending most of our time outside, but if not, we´ll be inside the stables.

Along the cairn path

Along the cairn path

We´ll be treading a path between cairns that mark our way. You will hear some tales about the hidden people living in the rocks, the elves and other nature spirits belonging to this land. It will be super fun, casual and interesting. We´ll be walking in the pristine surroundings of our farm Gufuá in West-Iceland. You´ll wade across a small river, visit a beautiful waterfall, make a halt at the Icelandic stone cairns called “vörður”. They are ancient waymarkers located in special places where you can see far and wide – and that is what we will do; take in some scenery and culture and look deeper into what it is that we have in front of our eyes. The walk is not too strenuous, and we will walk at a leisurely pace. Bear in mind that you will be hiking, so there is no solid concrete path and the walk involves a bit of hill and slope walking. Lots of smiles and laughter are guaranteed along the way!

Witness nature's forces on G levels

Witness nature's forces on G levels

G spot Iceland would like to take you for a unique trip that would introduce you to a mother's nature garden. Where you'll see past, present and future of volcanic energy farming. First we will start with hike on 1000 years old lava field. Depending on your fit level we’ll see anywhere between 2 to 4 caves out of about 40 in region we would visit. Each one would be different so you'll be able to see how creative nature is. At the last cave we would make a small lunch break where we'll prepare some Icelandic hot-dogs for you. Most likely you'll also visit lava chambers inside of the volcano. And all that away from main touristic traffic charged up with plenty of knowledge explaining process of creation on different levels. Once we finish we would head on to a biggest geothermal power plant in Iceland where you'll get to learn that farming isn't only about green vegetables but also about green energy which in Iceland is either crystal blue or fiery red.

Fire giant's crib with G spot Iceland

Fire giant's crib with G spot Iceland

Scientists believe that all Icelandic lava caves were created by volcanic eruptions. We at G spot Iceland are not so sure about it taking under consideration early settlers tales. As according to them caves were created by gods and those we will see were created by giant named Surtr. Cave was fire giant’s home once and with total length of 1970 m is the longest Icelandic lava tube. With its close neighbor Stefánshellir cave, combined length of tunnels reaches 3,5 km. Our unique exploration tour combines both mythological and geological aspects of lava cave genesis. G spot Iceland will take you for a journey through unique Icelandic landscape located at a Hallmundarhraun lava field next to Eiriksjokull glacier. Surtshellir and Stefánshellir caves offer impressive size hallways, unique lava formations, bandits activity signs. This is not a tour, this is an adventure. Grab your backpack, camera, put a smile on your face and let's start our journey-the way it should be done - G spot way.
