My son and I booked a tour with Giordana during the Christmas holiday from Avignon and we could not have asked for a more friendly and knowledgeable guide. SInce it was pretty cold in December, we were fortunate enough to be the only ones on the tour so Giordana individualized it to our liking. Instead of visiting the city of Arles, she took us to a perched village in the hills and it was quite beautiful. We had some time to walk around and explore the sights on our own. We were then off to the Camargue where we viewed the vast marshlands and did get to see some white horses and flamingos. We did not get to view all that many animals as you would in the spring and summer, but nevertheless it was a study in nature. We then visited the village of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer which was pretty deserted that time of year so we had the whole village to ourselves and saw the Statue of Saint Sarah also known as the Black Madonna. We did manage to find one restaurant open where we had some sandwiches and cappuccino. Giordana successfully combined a tour that was both informative but left room for self exploration. Thank you for a wonderful tour Giordana.
Excellent tour. We were lucky enough to be on our own on our tour 3 people so we were able to choose our itinerary with the help of our wonderful guide, Giordana. We visited the ornithological park where we saw the wild flamingos. We also visited a small town which was a bit crowded but the church at the top was interesting. We saw plenty of the white horses which are now mainly used for trekking. There were also a number of the black bulls about.
Giordana was very informative and made our trip worth while - thank you Giordana!
