It was just me and my husband and the guide. She was amazing and could tell us so much about how living in eastberlin was. So much people at the museum, so having someone guide you was great, since walking around reading was a bit hard.. i really recommend this!!.

Edo was our guide for this 1hr tour and what a fabulous guide he was!
The museum is small and compact but he made every item on show come alive by relating it to real stories and events.
2 adults/2 teenagers totally enthralled!
We loved every part of this tour and I would definitely recommend it!

This is a small museum. There is plenty to do and see without a guide, but our guide Anne was extremely helpful and added a great deal of value to our overall visit to Berlin. Anne provided useful background information about the DDR and its place in the history and culture of Berlin and Germany. Without the guide, we would have had an interesting walk-through of the museum, but we certainly would not have gained the historical and cultural insights that we gained from Anne's explanations. I would describe the value of the guide as something like the difference between seeing something in black and white and color, or maybe the difference between a 2 dimensional view and a 3 dimensional view.
