If you enjoy food tours then this definitely a must! Be ready to eat plenty! I am Italian and the homemade pasta’s were exceptional. This is the place to experience the cold cuts and cheese. History of chocolate was very interesting. Also this is a beautiful University City. Thank you to our guide Elena!
We thoroughly enjoyed the food tour in Bologna. Our tour guide was excellent. All of the food was excellent. We would have preferred more samples in smaller portions in order to taste a wider variety of local foods. The lunch, while good, only gave an opportunity to select one pasta dish. We would have preferred a small sampling of different pastas. The portions were certainly generous.
I loved this tour. The only think I would change is having more options for tasting, instead of choosing one kind of pasta for lunch having three smaller to sample for example. Our guide was excellent, easy to understand, very knowledgeable, it was a great experience.
Good pace and good guide. Went to may of the oldest food and cultural establishments in the City. Guide very knowledgeable and the group got together really well. The food stop in one of the best little Deli's was great with a mix of wine, meats and cheeses real surprise. The second stop at the pasta store was great as everyone took a different dish and we all shared to get the full experience. So in one tour had eaten, three meats, two great cheeses, some amazing Balsamic, 3 different wines and 8 different pasta dishes group idea not sure if everyone does this but I would encourage it and Gelato... what more would you want.
I actually arrived at tad late for my tour due to traffic as I was coming into Bologna from Verona that morning. My guide was so accommodating and patient! The food was delicious - especially the tortellini. Food tours are a great way to get an inside peek at a city because you end up in places that as a visitor you might not have considered!
We were staying in Florence and decided to take the train to Bologna to see another town. It was a quick train ride on the high speed train and easy to find the meeting point of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour. Bologna is a great city with amazing food. Catia was our guide. She was terrific, full of information and her love of Bologna was evident in everything she told us about the City. The portions were quite large and the wine was generous.
This was our first tour in Italy and by it set a high standard for all that followed! Our tour guide was well versed not only in the foods we would be tasting, but in Bologna history as well! She was an awesome story-teller and very descriptive of the foods we tasted, which included chocolates unique to Bologna, sliced meats and cheeses with bread and wine, pasta and wine, rice pudding, and gelato. We were full! And while we weren't left wanting any more food, I was certainly introduced to enough Bologna history that I DO want to learn more about Bologna. Highly recommend.
