The guide writing the ticket should explain a little further about the durability and other options. I wanted to take the walking tour but it was difficult to take a red line hop on and hop off bus and be there in time so had to walk. you should look at the timing. The tour guide for the walking tour was very good.
This was our third visit to Budapest, but we had a 48 hour ticket on the Hop-on Hop-off bus again. It's always the best way to see this, or any city.
The only hitch was connecting to the 'Green Castle Bus'. It wasn't clear how this worked and after waiting for quite a while, we decided to take the Funicular. Otherwise it was good value.

Once we got used to the four routes and how they worked, we really enjoyed hopping on and off the buses. We went on all four routes, more than once and saw most of the sites but getting inside information from a guide is better. The headphones were a nuisance, wouldn't stay in the ears. Had trouble finding the correct stops sometimes but there were lots of guides around who were very helpful.
Well worth trying this system, you can visit quite a lot of the important sites like Heroes Square, New York Cafe, The Danube, the Bridges, Vaci Street, the Grand Market which is fabulous and the river boat experience was awesome. The views along the Danube are breathtaking. Opera Houses, Museums, Theatres, Parliament Buildings, Churches, Castles, what more can you ask for and the people are so helpful.
Great, economical way to see Budapest. We arrived early for a river cruise and had three days in Budapest. Using this hop-on-hop-off bus tour was our main method of seeing major highlights of the city. This was a perfect selection for us.
