The tour is unique. The guides are very well informed and friendly ...be it Daniel, Lana or Sandra .... We are transported to a different world in the three islands , two of which are car less. We were even provided good vegetarian food .
unfortunately the weather was very bad on the day so we were inside the boat most of the time, however had the weather been good the boat trip would have been the only good thing about the day as there is absolutely nothing on the islands to see except for a few churches, on one island we were told there is a lovely beach to visit but it is a half hour walk mostly uphill and not worth the effort. The staff were very friendly and helpful but overall it was a waste of a day from our holiday.
Overall good experience. Ship, crew and food are top quality, however thought that there were not a lot of things to see on the islands and the entire day could have been better spent exploring other areas of Dubrovnik.
Great value 4 money . Food lovely, Music entertaining, Views breathtaking and islands gorgeous. I would just advise that more attention should be given to the more senior Sailors at boarding as climbing the stairs is tricky even 4 the less Senior 😉
We really enjoyed this trip as a family of four, my two daughters are aged 9 and 13. There were 126 people on the Karaka the day we went and it was still comfortable and not overly cramped. We paid 190 in all, which I felt was good value, the meal on board was a very good freshly made buffet with chicken and fish, the girls enjoyed this very much. You can either eat top deck or inside which is air conditioned and has a bar area, very comfortable! If you consider Dubrovnik pricing for food and drink this probably covers a third of the cost spent. There was 3 main tour guides on board and the group was split into 3 so circa 40 people to one guide, they were very knowledgable and friendly. At each island you gather first to get some background on the location and then are set free to explore and do as you please. I read a few reviews before booking this trip and noticed a number saying there is not much to do on the islands, although this is not entirely untrue the beauty in the islands is very subtle, probably not a trip for philistines.
The live music on board made for fun travel between the islands, our musicians did everything from Croatian classics to the Proclaimers, great stuff!
Wow, what a great way to see the islands! I looked at a few tours to visit these three islands and I am so glad I chose this one! The two guides that joined us on the cruise are so friendly, patient and knowledgeable. The islands are beautiful, as is the boat on which you are traveling. There were plenty of people on the boat but it's not packed and there's plenty of room to move around, unlike other tour boats I saw. The musicians add much to the atmosphere and are charismatic. Having the option to go indoors to the air conditioning was nice as the day was so hot and there is no shade on the boat, but once you are off sailing, you don't feel the heat. Just keep sunscreening!. We were pleasantly surprised with the food - Very nice, good selection. Was nice to have lunch seating indoors on the boat at set tables after being in the sun all day. As other reviewers said, bring water shoes, as some beaches are rocky or have lots of pebbles. I probably would have hurt my feet swimming at the second beach, had I not worn them. All the beaches are very close to where you are dropped off on the islands so you don't have to worry about making it back and forth to a beach in time. The first two island stops are shorter, just enough time for a little swim and a bit of exploring around the small town. Last stop on Lopud is about three hours so you have plenty of time to explore, relax, take a longer swim, get some ice cream, whatever you like. Everywhere you go, your ship is in view at the harbor. We brought towels as suggested but never really used them. In August it's so hot that you air dry almost immediately! Overall, I'd definitely recommend this cruise! Great value.
This was a fantastic day out on a beautiful reproduction karaka. The staff were very pleasant and informative. We had a delicious lunch with plenty for all. The whole day was well planned and went like clockwork. The musicians were great and really talented and all had a fun time singing along to requests. We enjoyed all the island visits but especially Lopud where the swimming off a sandy beach was just the ticket on a roasting hot day. We considered that the day out was very good value for money.
