AnnaMarie was our host. She made the outing fun starting with buying the ingredients at the market and then going in to her home to make pierogies. Highly recommend this class.
Polish Home Cooking Class - Highly Recommended!

This being our first time in Poland, we wanted to do something to accentuate our visit and make it unique - this class clearly met the criteria! Our chef took us to the local farm market where we picked all of the ingredients needed for our polish dinner. This included conversing with the sellers in polish -- with our chef close by to help us say the right things! After the market, we went to his apartment to make perogies. He provided detailed instructions and demonstrations -- and then let us make our own. This included preparing the vegetables, mixing the dough, and assembling and cooking the perogies. Also included were appetizers, drinks and dessert (all pre-made) along with his personal history living in Poland -- which we found fascinating. For some, it might seem a little unnerving to enter a private residence, but it really turned out to be a really unique experience -- one that should not be passed up. If you like cooking -- this is a great thing to do in Krakow! Highly recommended!

Our Hostess Anna made our experience positive with her personable manner and straightforward explanations. We enjoyed learning about Polish traditions and actually visiting a market and store through this hands-on approach. Making the pierogis from scratch ourselves was great instead of just watching. Lots of fun!

Absolutely amazing experience. Would highly recommend when in Poland! Anna was a wonderful teacher - we went to the market, spoke in Polish and went back to her place. Tried local cheeses, pickles, etc. and then cooked. Loved this experience and met a few new people. Can't say enough about this class.

Our class was fun a d informative. We had the experience of visiting and cooking with a dynamic young woman in her home kitchen. Though many of my friends would have died if they had to cook in such tiny quarters, it really made it homey. She insisted we try out simple words when we went shopping at the large delightful local outdoor market as she had us ask for ingredients. The shop keepers were wonderful though we were intimitated. We had samples of different snacks we purchaxed, tnen made onion and potato perrogies. Talking to her about Poland and her way of life was so informative. Though a bit expensive for a simple cooking class the overall value we had was the experiences.
Amazing experience!

Dominique was my guide and she was perfect. Young and enthusiastic and above all, enjoyed cooking! We visited the market first to buy the produce needed to make Pierogi Dumplings and some cheesecake for afters. We also got some varieties of polish cheeses, and samples from the kind lady on the stall, to enjoy. After shopping, Dominique welcomed me into her very traditional polish home and we set about making the filling and the dough for the Pierogi. Great fun and very very delicious, but we made far too many! At least Dominique's Mexican flat mate will enjoy her dinner later, and apparently they freeze well too.......just as well. I also enjoyed fermented beetroot juice, also bought at the market, and sauerkraut as well as some home made cucumber pickles and fabulous raspberry vodka. Thanks Dominique for making the day so special, and for your kind hospitality.

I absolutely loved this experience. It was me and another couple. We were greeted by our guide who then took us to the old Polish outdoor market. He explained some foods and we tried a few things. He then had us shop for ingredients for our pierogis and made us each order the items from the vendor in Polish. Not easy, but fun! and the locals got a kick out of it. WE stopped to buy dessert at a local bakery and he explained some neighborhood sites along the way. We arrived at the apartment, took off our shoes and introduced ourselves to the woman who was our host and instructor. How lovely that she let us in her home. She didn't speak English but she gave us great instruction and our guide translated. It was like cooking with my great grandmother who didn't speak English but man she gestured to what i was supposed to do. I was a natural! We each had tasks, made the final product and then enjoyed the dish. I brought some wine so everyone could share. What a wonderful day.
