Learning experience!

Great time first going to the market, learning about local produce. Then transforming that into a three course meal. Cooked Quesdaillas with salsa, Mole verde con pollo, and Tamales de dulce con pasas from scratch. Tasty and enjoyable!

Delicious, engaging and unique experience

We were so impressed with this experience. Eduardo took us to the market, showed us how to choose the best ingredients, and introduced us to native foods that are special to Mexican cuisine. We prepared and cooked alongside him, and he very patiently instructed us on how to prepare and chop, cook, and make a delicious three-course meal.
The food was excellent- especially the mole. Eduardo was an up-and-coming and excellent chef with a passion for food and he willingly shared his skills and techniques with us. We learned so much that we will remember and take back with us! Aside from his talents as a chef, Eduardo was great company. We truly enjoyed spending time with him and sharing stories. Worth your time and money!

Best part of the trip!

This was our favorite part of our trip to Mexico City! Eduardo was amazing and taught us everything from picking the right veggies for our meal to knife skills to cooking an incredible meal. He was very personable and made the experience great. The kitchen was very homey and the food was fantastic. We can't wait to make these recipes again for our family and friends. We will definitely be recommending this to our friends!

Fantastic Market Tour and Cooking Class

Chef Eduardo Landa was absolutely phenomenal! He took us to a local market where we not only got to learn what we were going to cook that evening, but also how to pick out the freshest and best ingredients. During the cooking class, we learned basic knife work techniques and also how to make three courses: two vegetarian tacos (we also made the tortillas), guacamole from scratch, bean and porchetta soup, and chicken mole (yes from scratch!). Chef Landa was incredibly knowledgeable and so friendly. As we had a ton of leftovers, he gave the rest of the food to the homeless on his way home. This was one of the highlights of our CDMX trip! Highly recommend.

Lalo (Eduardo) was my personal chef. I guess I was lucky to have Lalo cooking with me one on one. We went to the market where I was given lots of background info. Then we got back to the beautiful apartment. Where we started cooking and doing the mise en place. Lalo was fun to work with and has a very wide and professional experience as a cook. He gave me cooking/cutting techniques which made my working much more efficient. Now Lalo makes sure, that you not only stand next to him and watch him cooking. He lets you do all the work and helps you wherever help is needed. He explains a lot about the Mexican culinary culture, which was really interesting.Together we created his personal recepies which were a firework of different tastes on your palette. I loved ever dish we created and will for sure try to recreate everything we cooked together. Honestly, I am traveling a lot and have seen quite a bit, but this course will stay memorable. If you like food and cooking and feeling like having a relaxed afternoon with lots of fun, laughter and cooking, then you should not miss this opportunity!

I had the pleasure and the challenge...

I had the pleasure and the challenge to go one on one with Chef Ileana and lived to tell the tale!
This ain't no sip wine while the chef slaves class. Oh no! Totally hands on from the wonderful foray through the local market to procure your ingredients- both exotic and mundane -through to savoring your creations many hours later. Our kitchen was housed in a circa 1913 apartment of grand proportion and design. Intended originally to house railway workers these must be highly coveted today.
Ileana clearly can adjust her class to any level cook and I appreciated that she used me as a proper sous-chef and had me slicing, dicing, and roasting right along side her. Our menu was ambitious- 2 moles ! 2 salsas, rajas, various tortilla based creations and the piece de resistance- cacao tamales. For over 3 hours longer than usual we worked and I learned that to have the authentic taste, one most blacken ingredients almost beyond belief. But the flavors! So concentrated and unique. The lady knows her stuff! So, be sure to let her know what level of cooking you are comfortable with right up front, wear comfy shoes and avoid white blouses!
I cannot wait to try out the recipes she sent via e-mail. And, oh, she has terrific tips for exploring other local markets, too.

The class was amazing! We had so much fun at the market and then made sweet tamales and tilapia tacos, it was all SO DELICIOUS! My only semi complaint is that I was told the recipes would be emailed to me after the class but I never received them:/ still, I would highly recommended this class!!!
