Guided Tour National Museum of Anthropology

The museum is incredible and our guide, Manuel, was the most knowledgeable and passionate guide we've ever had the pleasure of doing a tour with. His experience, enthusiasm and stories brings the entire museum to life. Highly recommend, and hopefully you have Manuel as your guide, as it will significantly add to your understanding and appreciation of the people, culture and history represented in this wonderful place.

Visit of the museum is a must. Our tour guide Emmanuel made it even more enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable.

Our guide was horrible. He was constantly on his phone making calls. The guard at the entrance told us that the tickets were old and almost didn't let us through. The biggest problem I had though was that Sergio couldn't tell a story. He would just launch into incomplete explanations and assume we would understand everything - without giving any context like when or where it happened. He would use terms like "palengke" without explaining what they mean. He would confuse words like "camera" instead of "chamber" - just imagine him saying that in some Mayan temple they found cameras. What?? I had to constantly ask questions. We were 5 in the group. 2 speak Spanish and 3 of us speak English. The couple who speak Spanish agreed to an English tour, but our guide insisted on still explaining in both English and Spanish. This meant the tour was slow and lagged more than it should have. The Spanish speaking couple left in the middle of the tour because it was just a terrible experience.

Our guide Emmanuel was amazing., seriously. He has a background in linguistics and experience in deciphering hieroglyphs...so yes it was amazing. He has a very thorough and passionate perspective on an already fascinating subject matter. I highly recommend this tour. The guide may arrive right on time...not early. Enjoy!

Alejandro was very informed and gave a great tour! You could spend all day in the Anthropology museum, on Alejandro's tour we were able to see the highlights and he made it easy to understand and tie the different areas of the museum together in about 3 hours!

Great experience! 8000 years of unbelievable history. Well documented, although not always in English unfortunately.

world class museum. Emanuel is an excellent teacher. nice cafe. many museums nearby. plan at least 4 to 6 hours

At first we were just blown away by the amazing architecture of this museum, then thoroughly impressed by how the exhibits were set up and displayed. One could easily spend a whole day here. We were happy to have a guide for about 3 hours as at first the amount of information seemed overwhelming. There is a very good restaurant on site. Definitely add this museum to your list.

Our guide Lulu was very knowledgeable and spoke English and German. She was able to pitch the tour to the many ages present and keep everyone involved.
