No matter which tour you chose (the 2-hour or 3-hour) meet your group and guide in Plazza della Scala a little before 2pm. Your guide sets out through downtown Milan at 2pm sharp.
Your first stop is at Scala Theatre where your guide gives you a quick history lesson about the theater before you put on your virtual reality headset. Your headset takes you back in time with a 3-D video. Afterward, move on to the Scala Museum where you can see a collection of opera costumes, instruments, and portraits of famous performers.
Continue on to the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, one of the world’s oldest shopping malls. Here your guide asks you put your virtual reality headsets on again for another 3-D video about how the mall was affected during World War II.
At the Piazza del Duomo, your headset shows you what the plaza previously looked like while it was under construction centuries ago. Make your way to Duomo (Milan’s Cathedral) and skip the line to get in. Admire the stained-glass windows and architecture as you listen to stories from your guide.
If you picked the 2-hour tour, your tour ends at Duomo, but if you chose the 3-hour tour, your guide takes you to a medieval district that many locals don’t even know about. Explore the area with your guide and your virtual reality headset, and pop into the San Bernardino alle Ossa church for a creepy experience.
