This small-group tour combines two impressive archeological sites of the Yucatán Peninsula: Coba and Tulum. Let a guide accompany you around the ruins and explain their significance. This day trip from Playa del Carmen includes hotel transport, beverages and a buffet lunch plus a swim in Cho Ha Cenote.
  • Swim in Cho Ha Cenote and visit Paradise Beach
  • Buffet lunch and beverages provided
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off included from Playa del Carmen
  • Small-group tour ensures personal service
Start your small-group tour of Coba and Tulum with pickup from your Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya hotel. Get comfortable in your air-conditioned minivan for the drive to each archaeological site. A buffet lunch and beverages are provided during the day.
Coba is your first stop, with a tour of the preserved and rebuilt ruins. At its peak, Coba had a population of about 50,000 inhabitants and an area of 80 square miles (129 sq km). Walk past two ball courts and see the sacbé, or white roads, that once linked Maya cities. If you'd like, climb the 120 steep steps up Nohoch Mul — the tallest pyramid on the Yucatán Peninsula — and be rewarded with views of the dense jungle from the top.
Then head down to Cho Ha Cenote for a spectacular swim in the emerald waters of this sinkhole. Highlights include limestone stalactites formed over centuries.
From there, you'll drive to Tulum, the only archaeological site built on the Caribbean coast. Once a thriving seaport, it housed Maya nobility and merchants within its walls. Meander the groomed paths with your guide who points out noteworthy structures such as a restored temple whose murals reveal ancient red pigments. Learn about the Spanish conquest of the city during your walk around.
The final stop on your full-day tour is Playa Paraiso (Paradise Beach), one of the most visited beaches of the Riviera Maya. Relax under a palm tree and soak up the last hours of sun or swim in the turquoise sea, with a prime view of the ruins above.
Your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel in Playa del Carmen or the Riviera Maya.

A Great Experience
, Jul 2019
This tour was amazing, its everything advertised and more. Everything was easy from communicating with the provider to confirming our pick up time. Our tour guide Oscar picked us up right on time, he was funny and informative which is very important on a long day like this. Coba is beautiful but climbing is not for the faint of heart, if your afraid of heights or get vertigo don't attempt. The jewel for us was the cenote, its so breathtaking and clear that words can't explain, its a once in a lifetime kind of place to see. We also loved that they seemed to anticipate the crowds in the timing of events and we were leaving just as the big tour buses were descending. The cons are: (1) We would have like to have spent more time in certain areas for pictures and exploring and we felt a little rushed but understood there was a schedule in place and (2) the heat at Tulum: be prepared for it. It can be overwhelming but it's a great place to see. Our driver was also excellent, he stayed with our van at all times which made us feel comfortable leaving our stuff behind. Try to get Oscar if you can, he is a kind and humble human being.
Great day, lots to explore in the Riviera Maya
, Jul 2019
Great day, our guide educated us about the Mayan culture and showed us part of the vast Coba ruins as well as those at Tulum. The swim in break between the two cities in a cenote was amazing, as was relaxing on the beach at the end of the day before heading home. A great time, I wanted to plan my next trip to Riviera Maya immediately. ,I had such a nice time I didn't want to leave, very glad I booked this tour.

This trip was very personalized and interactive. Our tour guide Jose Manuel and driver, Francisco were very professional and made the tour so much better . Jose is very knowledgeable about Mayan history and taught us some things that we did not know. Francisco always stayed with the van so you can leave your personal belongings there and made sure everyone had water when you exited and entered! The Coba pyramid was amazing and you can climb the 120 steps to the top. Its not for the faint of heart. Then the Tulum ruins were very mesmerizing as wel . You also get to visit a cenote which was really awesome and to top off the whole trip, the traditional buffet was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this trip and make sure to request Jose and Francisco!
A lot to see in one day but overall good tour

We were traveling with a 11 month baby and this tour worked out well for us. Timing was perfect because every location we got to we were a step in front of the crowds. So we got to see a lot with out all the foot traffic . The only thing I advise is during the cenote it was a bit difficult breathing felt like shortness of breath. Overall, the guide was good and you had plenty of time to discover on your own.
Mayan Ruins

Absolutely a fantastic tour.! It was better than I imagined.Joel was extremely knowledgeable about the Mayan's and there culture.Joel made sure to answer all questions and took his time to let everything soak in. Not only did Joel act as our tour guide, but you could tell he wanted to preserve history and made sure we were all respectful of the ruins. The swim in the Cenote was refreshing after visiting the COBA ruins. The buffet was excellent. Jorge our driver made sure we had water available at all stops and stayed with the van when we toured so we could leave our belongings in it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and make sure you ask for Joel and Jorge.
Great day trip with many activities
, Jun 2019
Overall great trip with many activities packed into one day. Coba pyramid climb and Cho Ha Cenote swim were awesome and were a blast for the kids. Unfortunately Tulum's Paradise beach is completely covered in seaweed, you can't really swim there and it makes Tulum shoreline much less picturesque comparing to 10 years ago when it was marvelous. But this is not really tours fault, just be aware of it and adjust your expectations.

All the time guide was taking Spanish and we were little disappointed. Not a lot explaining in English language.

Amazing All-Day Adventure!

If you are in Playa Del Carmen, this trip is a must! Our tour guide, Sandra, was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the sites and was extremely fun to listen to. This is not a tour to go take pictures and walk around. This is an adventure with lots of hiking and swimming and the full story that goes along with it. If you want to cram a hundred selfies into a quick trip, this isn't for you. If you are wearing wedges or flip flops, this isn't for you. You'll learn all about Mayan civilization, religions, and beliefs. You will also need a good day to recover from all of the activity. Our favorite was the cenote! Crystal clear water and fun diving platforms made this an experience of a lifetime! Highly recommended!!!!
Best Guides, Best Tour!

We went on this tour 5/18/19 our driver was Javier and our guide was Gamaliel. Javier was on time to pick us up at our hotel and was a great driver felt safe entire time. Gama as he told us to call him was such a great guide, very knowledgeable and easy to talk to and ask questions plus he remained with us the entire time! Coba was impressive and so exciting to climb the pyramid! We rented the “Mayan Limousine” that took us to where the ruins were, this trip through the jungle was fun! We then went to the underground Cenote which was great and water felt amazing in the heat of the day. We then had lunch a this cute restaurant overlooking a lake, very authentic food and the cochinita pibil and freshly made tortillas were awesome. After lunch we were taken to Tulum and finally the beach! Overall was a great trip and would definitely recommend to anyone that has doubts about which tours to pick. This was a long day but was definitely worth it and both Gama and Javier were exceptional.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor and wanted to get to know you. At each part of the tour, he would give the history while on the way there and at the site. Then we were given some time to explore freely. I brought a 6 year old with me and she really enjoyed it too. The group was small too so it made feel more private.
