Our food tour was awesome and exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Snædis was delightful and eager to share her culture and food along with some Icelandic folklore. The tour exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it, Hopefully if you are lucky enough to get Snædis you are in for a treat!

Reykjavik Food Lovers Tour

my wife and I really enjoyed our Reykjavik food lovers tour with our great guide Bardi who we found very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. The food was very nice and although there were six different restaurants used they were all fairly close together so there is not too much walking involved.

We did the food tour with Bardi and loved it! A brilliant introduction not only to everyday Iceland food - hotdogs, lamb, lobster and fish - but access to the unusual - puffin, shark and whale - that we could not have found on our own. Bardi was a wonderful host and a very nice person and also helped us get the feel for Icelandic culture in a very short time.

Snaedis was brilliant . She had so much info. Food was soo good, Snaedis was our tour guide and she made it an amazing tour and was so good at explaining things to my kids. My kids loved it too because it was interactive and personalised. Must do tour and especially this specific family owned tour operator

This tour was a lot of fun. We tried food that we never would and probably will not try again such as rotten shark , fish jerky whale and lamb hot dogs. We small group of 4 with our guide and a guide to be. Great way to get a sense of Icelandic faves We loved the Skyr desert and have bought Skyr since returning home.

Why do a Food Tour in Iceland if you are not trying out traditional Icelandic food :). Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review ;). Use the Skyr for Smoothies, fresh fruit, frozen berries, ginger etc .. perfect :) Regards Valur Your Friend In Reykjavik

Great start of a Reykjavik visit

We did this walk with our grown up children and their spouses. It was a perfect start of our visit! We had exiting local food/specialities and a chance to learn more about the city and the country. Our guide Solweig was excellent in every way - she had a great knowledge about her home country and its customs but also a good humour so we had food, facts and laughs - a perfect day! 👍

Had a wonderful time

We were a party of three and were joined by one other person. Our guide was Solvang and she was very personable, informative and open to answer our many questions. I really enjoyed our time with her! The food was plentiful! Definitely come hungry! It was a mix of traditional and more modern foods found in Iceland, which was exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend this tour.

The good the bad and the ugly

We booked the 11:30 am tour and received written confirmation with time and location of start of tour. We arrived early as we wanted to ensure we did miss the tour. We waited until 12:15 and NO ONE else arrived and no guide. We tried the phone number on the voucher and no answer, no messaging capability. 1/2 hour later my phone rang and the called asked if I had just called his number. It was an Iceland number calling me so I thought Maybe it was the tour operator. After much back and forth he said we were booked on the 5:00 PM tour, there was no 11:30 tour. The 5:00 tour was with 4 other people. We decided to do the 5:00 tour but Viator document definitely had wrong timing, the caller even confirmed that when he checked into the system. A big waste of our morning. We were at the designated spot at 5:00 pm and the tour guide showed at exactly that time. Solvay was her name, a lovely Icelandic gal, there were no others on the tour and so we had an exclusive private tour. Tasted a variety of Icelandic foods in 6 different restaurants. Lots of food, arrive with an appetite. Learned lots about the Island and the people, food and customs. Great tour but a very rocky, disorganized waste of a day start. We could have been on another tour earlier in the day but the mixup wasted hours of precious time in a beautiful once in a lifetime visit to Iceland. Our time was limited to three days here so we were trying to do as much as possible.
