Experience Iceland by water and by land on this full-day combo adventure. After morning hotel pickup, head to Reykjavik Old Harbour and climb aboard a boat for a whale-watching cruise. Set out into Faxaflói Bay, known as one of the best bodies of water in Iceland to spot native marine life including minke whales, harbor porpoises and white-beaked dolphins. A friendly onboard crew will help you spot these sea creatures throughout the 3-hour cruise.
Back on land, hop onto a comfortable coach equipped with onboard Wi-Fi and head inland for an afternoon tour of the popular Golden Circle tourist route. Disembark at Thingvellir National Park for a walk around the rugged landscape as your guide shares the geologic and political history of the park, where Iceland’s first parliament took shape way back in the first century.
Next, see the stunning double cascades of Gullfloss waterfall, where glacial water empties into a ravine from both sides. For a change in temperature, visit the steamy Geysir hot springs. Finally, stroll around the village of Hveragerði, built in the middle of a geothermal park dotted with natural hot springs.
Admire the wild, bubbly terrain on the return drive to Reykjavík, where you’ll be dropped off back at your hotel in the evening.

The best Guide for the Golden Circle tour
, Sep 2019
We had the best guide ever the tour was fun and funny our guide was very helpful not regarding the tour only but also what to do in Iceland where to eat where to shop I’m sorry I forgot his name but his name started with a D and he was American.
I strongly recommend taking a tour with the grey line tours with the same Guide as a first thing to do it can help you for the rest of your trip.
For the whale watching we didn’t see any whales just some shy dolphins and it was raining so when you chose to go whale watching don’t expect so much.
Our trip was well priced and well organised. Unfortunately Whale watching cancelled due to bad weather but the Golden Circle went ahead and I was kept well informed with changews to the schedule and pick up times. The Golden circle Tour was a great way to see a lot on one trip and the guide was very friendly and informative. Well timed stops and comfortable clean, coach would definitely recommend!
Both tours were great but sadly we didn’t see any Wales. However they did us a complimentary ticket to go again. The only confusion was that the whale watching company couldn’t give us any direction on how to contact the next tour as they didn’t know anything about it being a joint tour.
No information from Viator about the company that did the Golden Circle Tour after the Whale Watching. Found a GreyLine bus at the site of the whale watching, he called his company and was told to bring me to the GreyLine bus station. Here they could not find my reservation either. It was probably a different service, but as I had no information, I would not know. Did an express tour with GreyLine. It was ok, but the guide was not the best i had on this trip to Iceland.
Good sights, but not the best information from the guide in my opinion.
Whale watching was with elding and golden circle was with Grayline. Very organised and highly recommend it. We saw dolphins but no whales (as it wasn't high season for them). There was enough time at each location site and tour guide was good.
Unfortunately we did not see any whales and the sea was very choppy causing a lot of people to be sick. We did however see dolphins which was lovely and some birds. With all the swell and bags going everywhere I lost my drivers license but got an email saying they will post it to me. Great service!
