Really great guide, lovely setting and well worth doing. I would have played christmas songs on the bus as it was a silent on the way to the markets and I would have liked a little longer at the markets but otherwise a great trip that I would recommend

Well organised and approachable tour leader. Commentary was interesting and the journey seamless. The three markets were all different and all were wonderful. Very pretty and not the least bit tacky. Disappointed that the Advent Candle was unavailable but these things happen a storm and everything else came up trumps.

Best tour ever, and we had snow! Three lovely markets around Wolfgansee we got around an hour at each one which was ample time to have a look around. The tour was in German and English adeptly handled by the guide, without any issue. No hard selling here either, just some recommendations on where to go to get maximum enjoyment from the day.

I really enjoyed this tour, though on the drive back into Salzburg, I couldn't really hear much of what the guide was telling us about the area. It would have helped to have a headset or a microphone. That being said, we met Thomas right on time, loaded into the van, and headed to our first stop, Strobl. It was about an hour a way because we stopped for photos along the way. It was mostly a food market, and we enjoyed trying all the different foods. There was a huge nativity scene at the end of the road along we some reindeer, so it would be a great market to visit with young kids. We had about 40 minutes in Strobl. Ten minutes from Strobl was St. Wolfgang. It was overlooking the lake with lots of hills and a church with beautiful views over the lakeside. The Christmas market was more traditional with lots of gift ideas, cold weather gear, and delicious gluwein. I really loved the views over the lake. We had a little over an hour in St. Wolfgang. The last stop was St. Gligen, and it was magical. Absolutely, positively magical. The sun was setting, the crowds were thinning, and it was everything I expected a small village Christmas market to be. There was a live band playing in the square, fires to keep warm, and fantastic punch. We had about 35 minutes in St. Gligen, which was enough to explore the market, but I would have stayed longer for the ambiance.

Hey. This is a fantastic tour. The guides are awesome. The tour takes in the mountain and lake district. Beautiful scenery. Markets are about Advent, food and wine. If you want to see a different style of Christmas Markets then I can recommend this tour...

The picture listed is one of the markets in Salzburg, you do not go to this well known market. The trip takes you by coach to Wolfgangsee. It is a beautiful ride through the country. You visit three smaller markets on the lake, each has a unique thing to offer. The tour guide was knowledgeable. St. GIlda is the location of where the Vontraps where actually married, not the church in the Sound of Music, which is located in Mondsee. It will take the entire 1/2 day, but it is well worth it if you want to get out and see the countryside.

Very thankful to have travelled on such an organised excursion to the different markets on the outskirts of Salzburg. Would highly recommend this tour. You are given approximately an hour at the different markets, with a small bonus gift and a free christmas drink.

The trip was well organised. The only down point was that with so much included in one day, there is not a great amount of time at each market. On the plus, your left wanting more, not bored. :-

Could have been magical, unfortunately by the time we shuffled from here to there the longest time we had was 30 mins, hardly any time to get your bearings and see anything, would not recommend this if you want to see the markets,if you want o spend more time in the coach go for it.

Beautiful but to short a time...you should extend time! Because visiting three markets at a time you'll need the whole day!!

We enjoyed this tour as we spent just the right amount of time in each market. Unfortunately the boat was a little delayed but the weather was not good so we didn't miss out too much on the final market. It was a shame that the area had not received any snow but the journey to the markets was still enjoyable especially seeing the Red Bull Offices. The small gifts we received were also nice souvenirs of the tour.

We enjoyed the Christmas markets very much - just a shame to have a rather short time in two of them but, nevertheless it was well organised and we enjoyed the short boat trip across the lake

This tour was one of the highlights of my 12-night stay in Salzburg in December 2012. You visit three different villages, with a boat ride in between, and the entire day is magical.

Great tour for those interested in the christmas markets and seeing a little bit of the outskirts of Salzburg. The boat ride to St Wolfgang is especially nice as you get panoramic views of the snow capped alps.
