Returns to original departure point
Meet a driver at your Zagreb hotel or central meeting point, then board a climate-controlled vehicle for the trip towards Lika, where the first stop of the day is the village of Rastoke, a historic community at the confluence of the Slunjčica and Korana Rivers. Walk through the village to see traditional watermills and old fashioned, riverside houses built from limestone and wood.

Continue to Plitvice Lakes National Park for a guided hike that explores some of the Plitvice's 16 lakes, which are linked by waterfalls. See the lower and upper lakes on foot, then board a train for a brief, but scenic, tour. The last Plitvice Lakes adventure is a boat cruise across Kozjak Lake, which is surrounded by thick evergreen forest (train and boat service are suspended from November through March, when tours of Plitvice Lakes National Park are on foot).

At the end of your day in Plitvice Lakes National Park, begin the return trip to Zagreb, where this tour concludes at drop-off at your original departure point.

Very Satisfying!

Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by Luka, as he was precisely on time for my pick up !! The guide and tour was extremely good, very flexible (appreciate this!) and for that he deserves a special thanks. On our drive to Plitvice National Park in Croatia Luka was very knowledgeable in many topics including history, geography, politics & even religion. i recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn a bit of Croatia’s culture and to see it’s beautiful natural sights !! Luka is such a warm personality and highly motivated guide (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed walking the four hour tour through the area. The scenery was beyond beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a beautiful quiet and peaceful environment. The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me . All respect for Luka who does a great job there; a true sample of excellent tour guide! Many thanks again and I recommend Luka to everyone and greeting from Las Vegas !

Perfect Experience

Petra was amazing. Her level of knowledge was impressive and her English was perfect. The hike was 10 Kilometers, she took it slowly for us. We loved the park and wish to enjoy it again in the future. The day trip was worth every penny.

A Full Sensory Experience guided and facilitated by a Pro
AnneC

What an amazing day we had. Thank you Petra for your tireless guidance through Plitvice Park, which began with a seamless pick up from our hotel lobby in her lovely car. We debated about going by bus and perhaps taking the advice to stay overnight in a hotel there. Instead we opted for the guided day trip from Zagreb and are so glad we did. Plitvice is SO much more than we anticipated. The walkway areas are only a small portion of this huge park, and are approximately ten kilometers long. We are 71 years old and are used to walking in mountains and cobblestones and in New York. However, there are many little “gotchas” that are along the way, ALL of which were anticipated by our guide Petra. . She was a massive fund of historical information which she wove into stories, interconnecting with signs and sites we were seeing, and exquisite natural biosystems that photos and words simply cannot do justice to this full sensory experiential day. All the while we walked and listened and questioned, Petra was pointing out hidden steps or tree limbs or slippery stones, never missing a beat. Even our wonderful trip mate Jonathan at 27 ( and a hiker to boot) was grateful for the guidance. She made the trip seamless, and managed the time for us so that we saw all the trails and buses before the park closed. I would not recommend any other way to see the park. It was a bargain when you consider the tour included park entrance fee as well as the tour. She even treated us to coffee to begin our walk. And at the end of her long day, she drove back the two hours to Zagreb, responding to our questions and attending carefully to the road. She is a real pro. Thank you Viator for the ease and professionalism of all the many tours we have taken with you through the years! And this was no exception!

What an amazing and unforgettable experience! I was lucky enough to to be the only one on the tour and even luckier to have one of the BEST, kindest and knowledgeable guide, Petra! She was amazing and the lakes are breathtaking. Pictures really don’t do this place justice. You must come visit the lakes if you’re in Croatia! Best tour experience!

Memorable experience

I have been meaning to rate and write a review for this tour I went on approx. 6 weeks ago. The fact that I am doing this now, so long after the tour speaks volumes of how much we enjoyed our day with Maya at the lakes. The lakes themselves is a must experience when you are in Croatia, the natural beauty is just breathtaking. Maya made our experience even better with her friendly nature and knowledge she shared not just of the lakes, yet of Croatia in general. Every county we drove through she gave us its history and what they are best known for. As we were based in Zagreb, she even gave us tips on places to go and to eat at. Only change we would make is cutting out Rastoke. Maya thank you for guiding us through such a memorable day, you are amazing :)

Maja and Filip were great!

Overall the tour was an excellent choice. I booked it through Viator. Check in: I was messaged by Viator via email the day before to confirm a hotel pick up. Maja and Filip were there on time to pick me up at my hotel in the morning. Drive: It was a very comfortable van ride with good air conditioning. There was plenty of space as there were only two other customers. Maja provides phenomenal information throughout the entire drive. She is very knowledgeable. Filip has some very good input as well. Tour: We stopped in Rastock for a quick break and snack before moving on to Plitvice. Our time at Plitvice was phenomenal. Again, great guiding and narration by Maja and Filip. They both seemed very experienced and could answer even our most thought provoking questions. They were also phenomenal photographers. Overall, I highly recommend this tour. Maja and Filip are undoubtedly the best out there.

Absolutely amazing. To my surprise I ended up getting a bit of a bonus by solo trip due to Covid times. The park was incredible! There were people out and about but no lines and so easy to get through. It was a full day and we walked all 16 lakes. The pictures don’t lie, it is that gorgeous and so much bigger than I could have imagined. I had a fantastic trip!!

This was an amazing tour with a great guide, Maja. There were only two of us on the tour so we really got a personal experience. Maja is very knowledgeable about Croatia and kept us well informed and entertained all day. Added bonus, we miraculously had the lakes practically to ourselves even though it turned out to be a gorgeous day with great weather. Proof that travel in the winter has some definite advantages!
