With other chefs focusing on traditional recipes, Helmi finds different ways to use Caribbean ingredients and create new and exciting dishes. During her hands-on cooking class, you will learn all about it. Helmi will show you all kinds of Caribbean fruits and vegetables. On the spot they get prepared, so you can taste them as well. Learn tips and tricks about using these ingredients. Like the easiest way to peal a mango or open a fresh coconut. You'll also learn how to fillet fish. Then is it time to pick up the pots and pans and prepare the lunch menu; in groups of 2 you will prepare several dishes and sides. Helmi and her assistant are always available to help you. When all the cooking is done, we will sit together at a nicely set table outside and enjoy a delicious home-cooked Caribbean lunch. During lunch wine is included.

First, we will drive through the historic city of Willemstad and the Old Jewish neighborhood Scharloo. During this interesting ride, you will see beautiful monuments and UNESCO world heritage sights. We stop for a visit at the Curacao liquor distillery where we'll stay for approximately 25 minutes so you can walk around and see how the Original Blue Curacao is made and taste the different flavours. After this stop, we drive through the Spanish water area on the East side of the Island, which is a beautiful residential area in the Spanish water bay, followed by A delicious lunch at Meat The Fish restaurant. Following lunch, we will cross the Queen Juliana bridge and stop at the Queen Emma floating bridge for pictures. By now it’s time for a dive into the crystal clear sea at Cas Abao beach. We stay here for 2 hours to swim, snorkel or just relax on this beautiful beach. Finally, On our way back, we'll drive by the salt lake at St. Willibrodus to see the Flamingos.

Klein Curacao, a sunlit pearl in the Caribbean sea, is just an amazing boat ride away. Cruise the east coast of Curacao before you find yourself in the middle of the open Caribbean Sea. From far away you can spot this bounty island and its iconic pink lighthouse. Upon arrival at Klein Curacao, Kailani anchors close to shore, where the aqua blue water is calm, crystal-clear and perfect for swimming. Come on board Kailani to enjoy a semi private luxury boat experience to the island of Klein Curacao. Boarding starts at 9:00 AM. Little later than the usual, so you can take your time in the morning, before meeting us at Jan Thiel Beach. The boat ride takes about an hour and 30 minutes, depending on weather conditions. Once at the island, enjoy the waters, make use of our courtesy snorkels, explore the island or hang out on the beach, in the water or on the boat. An extensive BBQ lunch is served around noon, when the full bar also opens. We head back to the mainland at 4:00 PM
