Best Fes to Marrakech 3 Days Desert Tour
"I loved this tour. We had 8 people in a comfortable van going to merzouga and only 6 for the second two days (the others went back to fes as planned). Our driver, Hamza, was kind and helpful - and a great driver on those crazy roads. There is a lot of time driving but lots of stops to stretch, use the bathroom, eat lunch, get a snack, see a sight. The desert and camel experience was amazing. You only need a small bag as everything else from the van is brought to the tent you’ll stay in. We rode the camels a bit, then stopped and climbed the desert dunes, then rode at sunset and in the dark to the camp. I had heard a lot about the ride being uncomfortable. I am short and 50 years old and had no trouble with comfort riding the camel. I do stretch and walk regularly. The tent accommodations were luxury. My pictures wouldn’t post, but comfortable bed, large space, and private bathroom with a shower. We visited a Berber city on the way to ouarzazate, which was nice. They will try to sell you stuff but you don’t have to buy. You see lots of the mountains on each day’s drive. We also stopped at Todra gorges, which was crowded but beautiful. The hotel in ouarzazate was good. Fancier in the lobby than the rooms, but perfectly fine, not huge room. We saw Ait Benhaddou and a Berber home the next day after atlas studios, which was really fun! There are separate guides for the Berber city and Berber home. Ait benhaddou and the home cost more (250 MAD per group and 20 MAD per person, respectively). Atlas studios was 80 MAD per person. Lunch stops were good and breakfast and dinner were good. I had no issues with the food. Breakfasts can be carb heavy. You pay for lunch but other meals are included. Although there’s a lot of sitting, I still got more than 10,000 steps each day. Visiting Ait benhaddou includes a lot of stairs. I was picked up right at my Riad in the fes Medina. You’ll be brought to a meeting point with other tours and wait until your van is ready. As we got near Marrakech Hamza asked for phone numbers of our riads, so be prepared with that. I was dropped near my Riad where someone from the Riad met me to walk me there."...""I loved this tour.
