"First: a word about Greece. The landscapes are stunningly beautiful: coastlines, mountains, blue water. You will walk among 2,500-year-old archaeological sites. The food is every bit as good as you imagine it will be. But the best part of Greece is its people. I had not one bad interaction with a local Greek; they were consistently gracious, friendly, helpful. This country deserves to be on your bucket list. Greece has something like 38 million visitors (in a country with 11 million residents) in 2019. That number is less than half right now as they recover from the pandemic. Now is the time to go to Greece! Bring your swimsuit, appetite, and camera. It’s the trip of a lifetime. This was a private tour. The tour guide and driver were excellent. They took us to Knossos first. Tour guide explained the historical significance of this palace. We had skip the line tickets. Still, the archeological site was hot, there were long lines, it wasn't particularly interesting. The tour guide brought us back to Iraklion, ensured we had our bearings and gave us some time to shop and dine. They returned us to the ship on time. I want to reiterate that both the tour guide and driver were excellent, Knossos just wasn't worth the heat and long lines. I'm sure there are interesting things to do in Crete, but Knossos isn't one of them. If you're interested in history, get your fill in Athens and Olympia."

He really went out of his way to have us see Crete, and Greece through his eyes. I felt like I was traveling with a friend."

"This was a great trip - a long day but well paced. We had plenty of time at each stop to look around in Chania and Rethymnon. Both places are pleasant to visit and the sights are picturesque. In May there were not too many people so nowhere was very crowded. Our guide Elizabeth was fun and told many interesting stories about the history of Crete and the places we visited. She spoke in both French and English. The middle stop at Kournas lake was just a lunch stop by the lake, and it would probably have been better to skip that and go straight to Rethymnon and eat there. But, the stop was good and the food was excellent and not expensive so we enjoyed that too. We left at 08:30 and got home about 7pm. The bus was comfortable and everything went to plan. We felt this tour was excellent and very reasonably priced."

"We got off a cruise ship and had a guide (also our driver) expertly guide us to the front of the line of the antiquities museum (before the buses), who expertly explained the mythology and history of Knossos. Andreas also helped us recognize how skilled the artisans were as well as the relative advanced technology they were using. The museum definitely helped us put the ruins in context and I would very much suggest doing that first. Andreas then walked us through the ruins of Knossos, and let me shop at the touristy shops across the way (there is a family that makes ceramics and is legit art). We then wanted to go to a winery while avoiding the bus tourists, and Andreas called around and got us to Titakis. I didn’t know Crete had good wine and THEY DO. We were the only people at the winery and we were spoiled with attention and tastings. Bring bottle protectors for your luggage because you’re going to buy some wine. We then went to a small bistro for lunch outside of Herkalion and EVERYTHING was amazing. One of the best excursions from our cruise ship for sure. Definitely leaps and bounds above any bus tour."
