Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL)
The flora and fauna of Bukit Lawang Mountain and lowland forests are breath taking. Both are vitally important genetic resource and wildlife habitat. The "green gold" Bukit Lawang is situated at the eastern side of Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL). This jungle is part of a larger section of jungle known as the Leuser Ecosystem. This region has an area of 2.6 million hectares which includes the area around TNGL which serves as a buffer zone.
Toba Lake is recognized as the second biggest lake in the world. It is also known as the deepest one on the planet, having the depth of 450 meters. The length is 100 km and the width is about 30 km. In midst of the lake, there is an island called Samosir, on which tourists can visit. You can reach Batak traditional villages that reside near to it. The best attractions are Tomok Village to see the ancient tomb of king Sidabutar, then visit Ambarita village to see the famous stone chairs & execution place of King Siallagan.
