Abseiling (rappel) in Cajones de Chame

Our Tour begins picking you up at your lodge at 8 am to head for a bit more than an hour to Altos de Campana National Park, the First natural protected area created in Panama in the 60’s. We will stop at the viewer point to enjoy the wonderfull view of altos de la Cruz and the pacific Ocean. The weather at this point is very nice. The tour continues to Cajones de Chame via the Scenic way to Chica and Sora. Once in Sora, we will board a pick up truck to get to the river (10 minutes away). Once in the wonderful Canyon named Cajones de Chame we will proceed after a brief explanation from our instructor to do a more than 12 mts high rappel. The rest of the day is free at leisure to swim in the clear waters of the river surrounded by its particular rock formations.

This excursion takes visitors on a tour of the main attraction of Panama City. It begins with a panoramic tour along the Cinta Costera, overlooking the Pacific Bay with views of the modern skyline. We then visit Casco Antiguo, the city’s historic quarter built in 1673, for a tour of the cobblestone streets and picturesque squares framed by colonial architecture. Sites include the San Jose Church and it’s the Altar de oro, Plaza de Francia, Paseo Esteban Huertas, Las Bóvedas (the Vaults) and the Obelisk, which commemorates France’s efforts and losses during the construction of the Panama Canal. We continue on to the Miraflores Locks to observe the Canal operations and transiting ships (subject to Canal Administration itinerary). The tour concludes with a drive along the Causeway, which connects four small islands to the mainland, and a visit to the Crafts Market and Duty Free Zone.
