Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This tour shares the history of the area's sex trade in a welcoming environment perfect for solo travelers wary about exploring on their own. At the Museum of Prostitution, check out the second-story red-light window, which garners glances from pedestrians outside.
Meet your guide in central Amsterdam for an evening walking tour of Amsterdam’s Red Light District, known as De Wallen in Dutch.
You’ll start with a visit to the Museum of Prostitution, where you can peek behind the scenes of the world’s oldest profession. See displays that include costumes and props used from past to present.
Strolling with your guide through a network of narrow streets, including Zeedijk — a once well-known spot for sailors seeking night amusements — you’ll learn that the shady bars and disreputable clientele are long gone from what was once a dangerous area.
You’ll pass through a welcoming destination filled with plenty of friendly pubs and restaurants, alongside strip clubs, sex shops, and coffee shops.
During the 2-hour tour, have a look at the exteriors of some 300 “kamers,” or cabins, where you might catch a glimpse behind glass windows illuminated with red lights.

Enjoyed the Red Light Walking Tour but did have a little difficulty understanding our guide. He was from the Canary Islands and very pleasant but English was not his first language & had to stand close to him to understand what he was saying.

The tour guide was a young lady and she made it so much fun - giving us the history and details. She had a good sense of humor

Really liked the tour. It gave an insight into the oldest profession. Although our tour guide Begonia was Spanish, she was easy to understand and answered all our questions. She was thorough and considerate of the elderly, slower walkers. However, the tour did not live up to its advertisement, which said it included a sample of Dutch delicacies including cheese an genever. This is false advertising.

My wife and I were in the air or waiting on a plane for 24 hours...got to Amsterdam at 2pm and were supposed to tour at 5pm.....we were wiped out and tried to cancel but were refused.

What an insight into the history of prostitution and the drug culture in Amsterdam! Charlie, our guide, was witty and entertaining while creating a whole new understanding amongst the 19 of us in the group. Excellent value
Not as advertised

I was not very satisfied with our Red Light District walking tour. Viator advertised a sampling of Dutch delicacies including cheese and genever. These were not included. Our guide did give good information, but we were not separated according to language. Apparently all tours are given in BOTH English and Spanish. Also, the group was very large - 20 people. Had I known this, I would have opted for a different tour provider with a guaranteed small group in English only.

This was a really informative tour. Chantal provided so much information about the neighborhood, the business of prostitution and how the city and country view and manage prostitution. It's a very busy area so it's a little difficult keeping up with the group, but all of the commentary takes place at scheduled places throughout the walk. The description of the tour stated that we would have a chance to sample Dutch delicacies like cheese and genever, but that did not happen. Was disappointed about that. Tour started and ended on time. Great way to see and learn about the district.

The tour guide that i had was awesome and spoke the entire tour in two different languages and no issues what so ever. Very well mannered and knowledgeable about the area and the history behind the Red Light District. She was definitely the plug on rhe Red Light District. Please choose this tour as you wont find another like this one.

Very Interesting to see and hear the history of the district. However, some of the girls looked very bored and others were very sexy.

We didn't end up doing this tour as it was pouring rain and we had a 20 minute walk from our accommodation.
