Your 3-hour walking tour of Amsterdam begins in the morning in Dam Square, where your informative guide leads your small group around the historical center. Learn about Amsterdam's history, arts, culture and architecture, from the city’s humble beginnings on the Amstel River to the glorious Golden Age to today.
View the Royal Palace, the famous Dutch East Indies company, the Begijnhof courtyard with its hidden church, the Amsterdam Museum and the old city gates. Admire perfectly preserved 17th-century gabled houses and peaceful tree-lined canals dotted with traditional Dutch houseboats. Walk by the Rembrandt House Museum, the Anne Frank House and Descartes' House.
Wander down the bustling shopping street of Kalverstraat, and in the Jordaan district, note the many upscale art galleries, speciality shops and restaurants. Your guide also takes you into the alleys of the notorious Red Light District (de Wallen).
End your tour at Westerchurch, with plenty of time left in the day to continue exploring on your own.

Walking Tour of the inner Amsterdam
, Jul 2019
Chloe Bacon - provide us a very informative and well presented tour of a city that she now calls this her home. Original from the USA. This was a small group tour and this is the only way to do a tour. We highly recommend this tour by WOW tours.

Up close and personal

While seeing landmark sites of Amsterdam, walking through side streets and sometime even alleys, it brings you much closer to the city. This combined with the history lessons of Amsterdam make this a good choice for seeing Amsterdam. It is a lot of walking, but well worth it! Oliver was our Brit tour guide and the small group maee it a more personal tour experience.
Response from Host , Jul 2019
Good to hear Oliver our new guide is doing his best to show you around the city. Thank you for the support.
Great guide off the beaten path.

Sean (and his dog Tolkien) were good, but several people were very late to the start of the tour, so we had about 30 minutes less time to tour. Sean is pleasant, very knowledgeable, and did his best to adapt to the remaining time frame. He easily answered any questions from the group as we did this casual walk through the city.

Oh thank you for the support - And for the mention about time restraints. I really do try and make up for lost time if I do not have another tour commitment afterwards. Seems I did. I hope your remaining time was enjoyable, and you will come visit the city again.
Chloe was awesome

The tour guide (Chloe) was super informative and fun -- you can really tell she loves the area and her job, her enthusiasm was infectious. :) Not only did she give a great tour, she also handed out her contact info so that if happened to have any questions after the tour, she'd be willing to help out! A+

This three-hour walking tour was well worth the cost. Our guide, originally from Wisconsin, spoke with knowledge and humour. We learned a lot about the past and present of this fascinating and beautiful city without the feeling of being overwhelmed with information.
Response from Host , Jul 2019
Thats me a true Cheese Head. Happy you appreciate my casual touring style. And thank you for the review. I'll keep working on the history.
Great way to get to know Amsterdam

It was a little rain, then sunshine, but the guide (Chloe) was very knowledgable for an American in Netherlands), very pleasant and made the tour extremely enjoyable. We got to understand a little about the culture, and the norms of the Dutch. Very enjoyable. The only downside was the weather.
Response from Host , Jul 2019
Hi - that was a great review, wish we could also improve our summer a bit. The trick is enjoying yourself in the stuff. Sounds like Chloe tried her best. Thanks for the review.
Great tour and guide!
