Make your own way to central Athens, where you join up with your host and walk over to a traditional Greek taverna. Meet your chef inside and begin the class with a glass of raki (twice-distilled Greek spirit) while chatting with your group mates.

The Greek diet is a classic example of Mediterranean cuisine, based on colorful foods from both land and sea. Dive right into the world of Greek cuisine with your chef, and learn about hearty stews, fresh shellfish and typical flavorings such as cinnamon, oregano, and lemon.

Prepare an authentic meal under the guidance of your instructor, creating four appetizers and one main course, with plenty of fresh spices and herbs. While recipes tend to vary, expect to learn local favorites such as Greek salad, tzatziki, melitazanopitakia (eggplant pies), and roasted lamb.

After all of your hard work, sit down with your group to savor each of your dishes. Pair your menu with a complimentary glass of wine or a soft drink and chat with your fellow chefs while you eat. Your cooking class will conclude after the meal.

Cooking is ‘Love””’
Alma_L
, Nov 2021
We had the most amazing time with Sophia, our cooking instructor. We spent five hours chopping, cutting, laughing, mixing, drinking, baking, drinking and eating the food we had prepared with the expert guidance of Our instructor. She told us that food always tastes better when it is made with ‘love’. And, let me say, the food was delicious! Add to the great time together, the cooking class was at the Hill Athena restaurant- a partner with the cooking school, so we were able to see the Acropolis at night while we prepared our totally Greek meal. We were given the recipes for every dish we prepared. It was a 5+star experience!! Thank you Sophia!!!

This experience exceeded my expectations!! Sophia, Lucy, and the rest of the team were amazing. We had a very hands-on cooking experience, while learning about Greek culture and traditions, and then enjoyed the amazingly delicious food with a stunning view. Sophia is a very very warm, inviting, fun and energetic person. You will leave this experience feeling fulfilled and happy, and you will surely make new friends.

Sophia taught us to make Sunday Dinner at Grandmas house and it was incredible, fun, and so delicious. Like a warm hug from a Grandmother you miss greatly. Sophia is a chef, teacher, cultural ambassador and now friend. You wont be sorry - you will be full so plan well. More stars if they would let me

Amazing food, inspiring teacher!

What an AMAZING experience! Sofia was our chef/host/guide and she was FANTASTIC. She was so knowledgeable about Greek cuisine and explained every step clearly and gave some history for each dish. Each recipe was authentic and felt like something a Greek grandmother would make for Easter dinner. Every recipe was prepared simply, and by hand. Be prepared to WORK a little bit, your hands WILL get dirty and tired, but that's part of an authentic home-made meal. At the end of the day, Sofia made us feel like family in her own home. We dined outside, at sunset, with the Acropolis and Parthenon in view. Thank you Sofia for such a memorable experience!

Delicious food and best value of all excursions all week
Michelle_B
, Aug 2021
Sofia was delightful. This class was so fun - best activity we did all week! Loved the fresh ingredients & learning how to make these delicious meals. Can't wait to try them at home. Then after we made the meal, we were able to sit outside and enjoy a spectacular view of the Acropolis. Loved the opportunity to meet and chat with the other people in the class. Sofia even assisted us by walking 5 minutes and procured a taxi for us - way exceeding our expectations. Best value and best activity we did all week!

This was an amazing cooking class led by Sophia F. We cooked 7 things and in 3 hours. I was very nervous thinking we would not finish in time but we all worked great together. We made delicious meals. I cannot wait to try and make them at home. Sophia was patient and kind and very knowledgeable of Greek cuisine. I recommend this cooking class. Five stars.

Fun and informative cooking class with a view!

We loved our time with Sophia. As 3 novice cooks, she made cooking a lot of fun. We learned how to cook the grandmother’s way and enjoyed our food on the balcony while looking at the Acropolis. It was our favorite experience in Athens and I would recommend it to any visitors.

A fun cooking class
Jason_W
, Feb 2020
Sophia did an excellent job sharing some traditional recipes. She also shared some background of cooking with her mother growing up. The class was a lot of fun with a few jokes and stories shared among the group. My only gripe is that the guide/presenter is stuck with the same 5 recipes for every group. It would be awesome if they provided some variance for seasonal recipes. Our reservation got moved a day since this is the low season for tourists. Fortunately we were able to make the class the next day. The venue is beautiful, clean, and fairly central to most the tourist destinations. The staff there were a lot of fun as well, even though they spoke less English.
