Make your first stop at a traditional pub and brewery that focuses making artisanal batches of traditional beer styles. During your visit you might taste a variety like a ‘Weissbeer,’ a ‘Kellerbier,’ or a ‘Dunkelbier,’ learning about the tasting differences between this historic brews. You’ll also learn about the ‘Rheinheitsgebot,’ a 500-year old brewing purity law that persists to this day.
Continue to another watering hole opened by a team of Germans and ex-pats, who are focusing on making craft-style beers that celebrate the heritage of the country’s brewing traditions. You’ll finish the trip at Monterey Bar, one of Berlin’s most famous craft beer bars, where you can pick from among a huge selection of stouts, ales, porters, Belgian-style beers, sour ales, and much more.
