Spend a relaxed half-day on an afternoon tour from Bordeaux to sample the famous wines of either the St-Emilion or Medoc wine regions. Visit two historic châteaux to taste wines along the way.
Medoc wine tour:
Enjoy the scenic drive along the Castle Road of the Medoc region, passing well-known châteaux like Mouton-Rothschild, Latour or Margaux. Pause at a few photo-worthy places – in between learning about the history of the Bordeaux wine region from your expert guide – on your way to the first stop.
Arrive at the first château for a vineyard visit and wine tasting. You may stop at any one of several classified growth châteaux, including Paloumey, Siran, Cantenac-Brown or Lagrange. Tour the wine cellars, hear about the wine-making process and sample more wine, along with an array of French cheeses, bread and sausage.
At the second stop, visit the wine cellars and tour the château of this family-run estate, after which you'll get some additional wine-tasting expertise with a wine workshop.
St-Emilion wine tour:
Admire the beauty along the drive from Bordeaux into the St-Emilion countryside on the way to one of the following classified growth châteaux: Ferrand, Grand Mayne, Soutard or Pressac.
Sip a glass of the château's wine as you nibble on an assortment of local cheeses, fresh bread and sausage and learn about the wine-making process from your guide.
From there, head for a tour of the village of St-Emilion itself, a UNESCO-listed town that is partly carved from the surrounding rock. There are almost 800 châteaux in and around St-Emilion, one of which is your next stop.
Arrive at a family-run estate and take a guided stroll through the vineyards before adding to your growing knowledge of French wines with a wine workshop.

Our guide Guillaume was friendly and informative. We had enough time in between places to really take in the Chateaux(s), experience the wine and walk around. We didn't feel rushed at all which was good. Even the car ride to and from was filled with interesting facts about the city's history and Bordeaux wine. All in all I highly recommend this tour for anyone (couples or solo) who want a great 1-day experience without doing any of the heavy lifting.

Cannot fault this tour! From the moment we left with our Tour guide Jerome, we had the most amazing experience and learnt so much about St Emilion, wine and much more. Truly worth every penny spent...

I am avid wine taster and buyer. I was looking forward to my two promised tastes at each chateau in order to make that many purchases. Chateau Laniote had 5-6 vintages on their wine list but chose to pour only one. When queried, he said he was new to the tour circuit and thats all he had. Our guide tried to make up for it by pouring a Medoc later a region we werent visiting...not a wine I could buy.
Further, the description of this tour also mentioned instruction on tasting techniques, which consisted of being told to close my eyes and name the smells. There is so much more to it than that!
Lastly, our guide was a Certified Wine Educator CWE who only educated when prompted. The 40-minute ride in each direction couldve been used to enhance the entire process.

Great wine tasting tour of small family owned and larger wineries. Guide was very knowledgeable. Although, he spoke Spanish a lot because there was a Spanish couple but more English speaking group got annoyed.

We met our guide at the tourist info centre and a group of 8 of us headed off to St Medoc. We visited 3 wineries and the tours and tastings at each were all interesting and informative.

We met our guide at the Tourist Info Centre and hopped on a minibus with about 10 other people. We visited three wineries and had tours and informative sessions with each of the local winery guides, followed by generous tastings. After the second tasting we had free time in beautiful St Emilio, enough time to have lunch and look at the main sights. The third winery had lovely views over the vines from the tasting room. Our guide was very nice.

This tour was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Worth it to see some of the countryside surrounding Bordeaux. The 2 wineries visited were both stunning but the highlight was the town of St Emilion. Our guide, Remi, was super knowledgeable of both wine and history. Highly recommend.

Our tour was a focus on the sights and tastes of the St Emilion wine region near to the beautiful city of Bordeaux. Everything about the day tour was first class the guide, transport, sightseeing and the wine tasting. For people who have a strong interest in learning about the best in French wines this tour is a must small tour group, gorgeous vineyards and chateaux and an easy and friendly approach to the tastings of the best vintagest with great food also supplied.....no skimping there at all.
