Depart from your Brussels hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and travel to the town of Henri-Chapelle. Listen as your guide sets the historical scene with anecdotes about World War II and the infamous Battle of the Bulge.

On arrival, gaze at interminable rows of graves memorializing more than 8,000 American soldiers. Continue parallel to the site of the battle to the cities of Büllingen and Bütgenbach to witness moving tributes to the 1st Infantry Division.

Next, head to the site of the infamous Melmedy Massacre, a place in which Hitler’s forces brutally murdered 84 kidnapped American soldiers. Revitalize with a flavorsome and fulfilling lunch (own expense) then travel to the traditional town of La Gleize to observe a perfectly preserved German Tiger II tank.

Venture within the dense greenery of the Ardennes woods to see the secreted foxholes, discreet defensive fighting positions that pepper the woods. Take a moment of quiet reflection at the monument to the 101st Airborne Division then admire the moving Mardasson Memorial that commemorates 76,890 American soldiers killed during the Battle of the Bulge.

Peruse the informative exhibitions within the Bastogne War Museum (own expense), admiring artifacts that speak eloquently of the town's turbulent history, and then conclude your tour with a visit to Place McAuliffe, a place that honors the courageous US General Anthony Clement McAuliffe. Relax during the return journey to Brussels and bid your guide farewell on arrival at your hotel.

It was a long day and lots of driving, but worth it to see all of the sights! There's no way I would have been able to see all of these amazing places otherwise. Thanks, Jean, for offering this tour and letting me see where my grandfather fought!

An excellent tour with a guide who really knows the battlefields. I was with a strange group, all others from the US, but all marked by the most singular lack of curiosity I have ever seen. Our guide did his best, but there were hardly any questions from others in the group, few comments, and bare minimum interactions. I guess I had expected to share the tour with other military history geeks who would want to discuss what had happened during the Bulge. The battle covered a lot of territory, so the tour had a lot of driving time and was a long day.

This was all I hoped for. We started out at Elsenborn Ridge, the Northern shoulder of he Bulge, then hooked up at the site of the Malmedy Massacre, then retraced the exact route of Kampfgruppe Peiper until he was cornered and his battlegroup destroyed. You really understand how destroying the few bridges strong enough to bear the weight of heavy tanks was crucial in the battle. Then south to Luxembourg to visit a giant cemetery where Patton is buried, then North to Bastogne where there is a big new museum about the battle for Bastogne. A long day, but all I wished for.

The tour was wonderful. Jean packed as much as possible into our day. He worked to make sure our needs were met. He answered our questions, yet wasn't afraid to say he didn't know when he didn't know. He made the battle of the bulge come alive for us. We definitely recommend this to anyone with an interest in WW2.

I highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. This is a long tour, but it is the only way you would be able to see all of these sites. It would take days to find them on your own. Excellent job!
