Gaucho for a Day

How great is it to be a Gaucho? Pretty GREAT!! Our trip to the ranch started with our guide Aime explaining life on the pampas and traditional customs. There was a short stop to buy souvenirs and my husband couldn't resist getting a poncho and hat. We then went to the little town of San Antonio de Areco and toured the silver shop that hand crafts the silver for saddles and bridles. Then on to the ranch where we were treated to a horse ride, traditional meal under the trees and then traditional dancing, music and of course gauchos and more horses. A great day to live the life of a gaucho.

Relaxing day with the gauchos!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Gaucho Estancia la Florida. Our group of about 10 were basically invited by a family on a working gaucho ranch. The empanadas were great, as was the BBQ parilladas feast! There was singing and dancing. We even got to take a short horse ride around the ranch. Aime, our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. She gave us insight about life in Argentina. A fabulous day!

A waste of time!

This tour is a waste of time and money. I expected an experience with Argentine "cowboys" and a working ranch. Maybe experience what Gauchos do, tending horses, riding demonstrations, rope tricks or something special. After all, it took all day. No, all we did was visit a farm, ride down a dusty road in a buckboard, saw nothing but farmland. They didn't even resemble cowboys, the horse riding option was only what you might find at your local fair. Just riding a horse in a line of other horses going very slow and on a dusty trail with nothing interesting to see. The lunch was good, plenty to eat, good food with some very mediocre wine. Then they had a little show which with some folk dancing, very amature and boring. Don't waste your money, and more importantly don't waste a whole day of your time in Buenos Aries on this. You will be disappointed.

A break from from the city

Such a fun experience visiting the countryside. The ranch is so relaxing and a break from the city. Being around the animals is a plus. Lunch was fantastic and delicious. Worthwhile to visit.

Told we would have time to see and tour the ranch. We had no time at all to see the ranch. All else was good. Thank you.

Fun day!

What a great day! Despite covid 19 restrictions closing the San Antonio de Areco Goldsmith attraction, the estancia experience was wonderful. We felt welcomed and had an amazing top quality asado followed by fun and friendly folklore dancing and a demonstration of the relationship between gauchos and their horses. Our guide Imé was very informative and friendly Would definitely recommend this tour.

Beautiful Day Trip

This was an amazing experience. My tour guide, Daniella, was extremely knowledgable about gaucho culture and Buenos Aires in general. The time at the ranch was amazing and everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. I had never ridden a horse before and it was the most calm, beautiful, non-nerve wracking thing ever. The BBQ, or Asado, was absolutely delicious. Having done this solo as well, I never felt out of place or left out of any activities as everyone was so friendly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Great Gaucho experience

We had a good day out. It was quite a long drive from Buenos Aires to the ranch but our guide gave us lots of interesting information about Gauchos on our way and we enjoyed visiting the small town of San Antonio en route. The horse ride around the estate was great, even though we're not horse riders we felt safe. The meal was good -way more BBQ meat than we could eat, washed down with a good local wine. The singing & dancing entertainment was Ok but watching the 'horse whisperer' was a special experience.

Great day at the ranch!

Outstanding tour. Our guide Aime and driver Jose were great, very attentive to making sure everyone had a great time. The ranch experience was great as well. The food and drink were excellent and abundant. The folk dancing was very good, and the involved all of the audience who were willing. The gaucho exhibitions were amazing. Highly recommended for the whole family. I should point out this was a small group tour. There were only twelve in our group, and I think the minibus would only hold about eighteen.

Get put of the City and Enjoy the Estancia

This was a very fun day leaving from Buenos Aires in a van with a very bright and enthusiastic guide (Aime) who was extrardinarily versatile in switching between English and Portuguese. The event at the Estacion was very interesting starting with a greeting empanada (one of the best I've had!), followed by a 45 minute horseback ride to check out the heard of black angus cattle, back to the ranch for a full grill based dinner. As a finale, a show including dancing and music by the staff, and a very touching gaucho/horse performance unlike anything I've ever seen.
