Meet up with your guide and group at a central location in Nagoya. You’ll board a coach bus for the ride to Gokayama, a UNESCO World Heritage city in Japan’s Gifu Prefecture. Admire the city’s famous “Gassho-zukuri,” a style of farm house that acquired its name due to the buildings’ roofs resembling the prayer pose of two hands (also known as “Gassho”).
When it gets dark, enjoy the festivities of Gokayama’s typical evening celebration, a period when candles fill the town’s windows and you’ll view performances of traditional dances and music like “Kokiriko-bushi” and “Sasara Odori.” You’ll also have time while in Gokayama for an included bento box dinner.
Return to your original departure point in Nagoya in the evening.
