  • Travel in a 4x4 open top vehicle to some of the highlights of the Colorado Springs foothills
  • Snap photos at Helen Hunt Falls
  • See Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods
  • Choice of morning or afternoon departure
  • Snacks and bottled water
Choose from morning or afternoon departure, then meet up with your guide at either an agreed upon meeting point or enjoy convenient pickup at your hotel. Climb in to a 4x4 vehicle and head out of Colorado Springs proper, through the North Cheyenne Canyon, on the way to Pike's Peak. Make a brief stop at Helen Hunt Falls, looming over the town, then join up with the Shortline Railroad Grade. Traverse through two railroad tunnels, ending in photo-worthy vistas and a history lesson about frontier-era Colorado.

Ride through Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, where early settlers traded goods and founded some of the first buildings in the west. The day's final stop is the Garden of the Gods, a National Historic Landmark and a perfect place to take photos of the red rock formations from your seat in the open-top vehicle.

Return to your original departure point at the end of your tour.

With Buffalo Phil as our guide, we headed off for the foothills of Colorado Springs. On the way, we drove by the famous Broadmoor Resort and the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Norad installation. Buffalo Phil informed us he had lived in Colorado Springs for 35 years and he was full of information about the area. After stopping at a waterfall, we went off road on the path that used to be a mining railroad. It was a clear day, so we had amazing views of the Colorado Springs valley. The Garden of the Gods area was especially beautiful. We had a wonderful 4 hours on this tour and would highly recommend it.

We found our driver Sweede very nice and informative. The ride through the foothills and the Garden of the Gods was beautiful but we felt the cost of the tour was a little pricey.

Great trip. I must say I didn't enjoy the narrow road on the mountain and it made me very nervous. However, I don't think there is another way to get there. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable.

Great tour. Tremendous views. Guide's narrative was great, but the passengers in the rear seat sometimes had a hard time hearing all he had to say.

What a great day! Our tour guide Dutch took us up canyons, through tunnels, through the park and all along the way filled us with history and great suggestions of what to do while in the area. Jeep was comfortable and in excellent shape. Dutch's suggestions led us to a great adventure to the mining town of Cricket Creek the following day. Such a nice guy! Well worth the given how much you see and learn.
