Delve into the darker recesses of Dublin’s haunted history on this evening gravedigger ghost tour. With your (slightly spooky) local guide, learn about the devastating human effect of the medieval plague, visit eerie local sites such as Dublin castle and Kilmainham Jail, and hear how opportunist gravediggers made a killing (so to speak) on body snatching. Cap it off with a ‘ghoulish brew’ at Gravediggers Pub.
  • Discover Ireland's haunted past on a Dublin ghost tour by bus
  • Visit the chilling Bully's Acre cemetery and learn how watchmen witnessed gravediggers in action
  • Admire the Dublin Castle, where some of Ireland's most historic events have taken place
  • Stop at St Audoen's, Dublin's oldest-running parish church
  • Visit the original Gravediggers Pub and enjoy a free 'ghoulish brew'
  • Listen to accounts of strange occurrences witnessed at Kilmainham Jail
  • Free pass for the ‘Haunted Dublin Historical Walking Tour’ included
As evening sets in, meet your tour guide at College Green for a journey into the gruesome side of Dublin. From here, travel by bus to each sinister location, where you will have a chance to stroll and hearing chilling tales of hauntings and misdeeds.

View Dublin Castle and Christ Church as you head to the first stop – St Audoen’s Church, one of the city’s most haunted locations. Learn about the site’s grisly past including its bordering district known as ‘Hell,’ 'The Black Dog' jail with its mysterious phantom pig and the burning of Darkey Kelly, an accused witch and serial killer whose infamous ghost still wanders the area.

Your next stop is Kilmainham Jail (Kilmainham Gaol), a menacing stone building that has seen scores of death from battle and execution since its construction in the 1790s. Hear tales about Kilmainham’s resident ghosts before heading to Bully’s Acres, a millennia-old graveyard that was once a ripe picking zone for local grave robbers. Hear tales of body snatching that stretch back to the cemetery's opening.

Afterwards, you may feel like a drink. Accompany your guide to the Gravediggers Pub, passing by Croppies Acre and St Michan’s Church along the way. At the pub, partake in a complimentary ‘ghoulish brew’ with your group.

Your return trip passes by Black Church, also known as St Mary’s Chapel of Ease, and the ruins of the original Augustinian Priory Chapter House .  Your guide will provide cringe-worthy tales of the plague house that once stood on the grounds. You’ll return to College Green once night has completely descended on the city.

Added bonus! Your tour ticket includes a free 'Haunted Dublin Historical Walking Tour' pass. Any time within one monthly of your gravedigger tour, use your ticket to experience even more of Dublin’s dark underbelly – witches, gravediggers and creepy stalkers, oh my!

The bus tour was really enjoyable. The bus was very atmospheric and the actors incredible. The free haunted walking tour is defiantly worth doing as well. The guide was on that tour was really knowledgeable and friendly.

Not what we were expecting...this tour on paper made is sound like we would get to see the INSIDE of the Dublin Castle and the Dublin Gaol. We did NOT see the inside of them or really anything except the Gravedigger Bar and Pub. We went to those places and stood outside the walls of each place and heard some stories but that was it. We were extremely disappointed. The tour guide / actors were nice and funny and told interesting stories, but the tour itself was a big disappointment. Also, the bus broke down while we were at the Gravedigger Pub and after waiting for about 20 minutes, we ended up ordering a cab to take us back to our hotel because it was already after 10:00pm. So, in addition to being disappointed in the tour, we had to pay extra to get a cab to go back to our hotel. Overall, this tour was not what we had signed up for and it DEFINITELY did NOT live up to its description on its website.

Oh wow. I'm sorry, but it was really awful. The bus was hot, corny, and smelly. The windows were all blacked out to make it creepy but it was just a bummer not to see outside. The story teller was overly enthusiastic to the point where none of us could understand what he was saying because he was either yelling or whispering. The little bits that we could understand, the stories were not very interesting, though hard to tell when you miss 60-70. The tour consisted of getting on and off at places around the city, and then an unintelligible story told in front of a building or cemetery. The ghoulish brew is a shot of Naked juice -- not alcohol. Beer is offered, but you have to pay for it. There was no coupon for a free walking tour.

The only redeeming quality was when the main tour guide/character went off script and did a little improv and it was quite funny. Overall though, I wish I had left the tour early.

This tour wasn't what we expected. We thought it would be a fact based tour where we could go to locations and learn more about Irelands gravedigging past. In reality it was over the top acting with some history. The pub was cool but you only got a small shot. May have been worth it if we could attend the complimentary walking tour but we weren't able. If you're looking for a laugh go for it, if youre looking for facts and history I'd avoid.

Entertaining and goofy, I really enjoyed this tour.

We stopped at the Kilmainham Gaol, the old City Walls, the Glasnevis Cemetery, and the Gravediggers' Pub. The actors / guides were informative, hilarious, and engaging.

It definitely helps that we ended up with a group of good sports.

Great nights entertainment. Night bus was very cleverly decorated and atmospheric. The story teller was engaging and kept the evening flowing well. Would recommend this to anyone staying a few days in Dublin.

Recommended! Fun way to hear about the darker side of Dublin's history and folk stories.
The atmosphere and aesthetic were great, the actors are true performers.
The actors were super professional, handling a few drunk travellers on the bus really well to ensure they didn't ruin the experience.
