Explore Florence art and architecture on a tour that gets you skip-the-line access to the Accademia Gallery and the Duomo. See Michelangelo’s ‘David’ in the uncrowded, morning hours, then get an in-depth tour of the Duomo, including the Duomo Museum, the Baptistry, and the Duomo Terraces, without waiting in line. This tour includes all entrance fees, and is limited to 15 people for a personalized experience.
  • Small-group Accademia and Duomo tour
  • Skip-the-line access at both locations
  • See two Florentine highlights
  • Small group ensures personal service
Make your way to the Piazza San Marco, where you’ll meet your guide. Walk right past the long lines at the Accademia Gallery, and visit one of the museum’s most iconic masterworks: the David, a longtime symbol of the small (but mighty) Florentine Republic. You’ll also have time to explore some of Michelangelo’s unfinished sculptures, The Slaves, which offer a fascinating insight into the artist’s creation process.

Continue to the Duomo Baptistry to see its famous doors, replicas of the originals, which you’ll see later in the Duomo Museum. Learn stories about the members of the powerful Medici family that were baptized here, and see some of the Duomo’s exquisite artwork.

The next stop is the Duomo Museum, which offers a glimpse of how the Cathedral’s original façade once looked, and contains masterpieces by Michelangelo and Donatello. Walk past the lines into the Duomo itself, where you’ll have special access to a room of statues from the Cathedral’s original façade. This tour also gets you pass the velvet ropes, so you can take in the Cathedral’s remarkable detailing up close.

Finish the tour with a once-in-a-lifetime experience: skip the lines for the Duomo Terraces, and climb all the way to the top for panoramic views of Florence. This tour concludes at the Duomo Terraces.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I missed the start of my tour. The company was gracious enough to rebook me later that day. Consistently impressed with quality of tour guides who are attentive, gracious and offer much education.

Viola was a wonderful guide and extremely knowledgeable! We were able to see and learn so much in a short period of time. David was even more impressive in person :).

Tour started from the San Marco square with a quick introduction followed by a great tour of academia and statue of David. Then the museum and Duomo terraces. Viola was well informed and passionate about the stories she told.

We really enjoyed this tour- we had the 8 am entrance to see the David with our guide Elena! She was fantastic-very knowledgeable and passionate about Italian history. The climb to the top is hard but worth the trip!
Game Changer

This may have changed my life. I came to this tour without any real interest in art and left it wanting to take a course in it over the summer in Italy. I've traveled all over and have taken many tours but this was the best I'd ever taken. Perhaps it was because of our incredible guide Klaus. He had the energy of Robbin Williams and an infectious enthusiasm that just wore off on me. This was the best money we could have spent. The David took my breath away and the Duomo must be experienced to be believed. I wish I could leave this tour more stars than five. If you can get Klaus as your guide get ready for your life to be changed. THIS IS WORTH IT!
Excellent guide and tour

As other reviews state it’s worth it getting up early to get to the academy before the crowds. Our only regret was the 8 am wasn’t available when we booked. Still was an excellent and informative tour. There was no waiting at the Duomo but there were still many people on the climb. 5 min rooftop walk was short but amazing. Definitely best way to go!
Amazing tour!

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable! He gave us so many interesting stories and the history behind so much of Michaelangelo’s life and art. Exceed our expectations completely!!!

This tour was done so well from start to finish! We were first in line to see the statue of David, but only waited in line for maybe 10 minutes. Our guide told us to get our photos while we had the whole museums to ourselves before it became a madhouse. The tours of the baptistry and duomo museum were very informative, soooo worth having our guide who explained so many things about the art and sculptures we never would have seen on our own! Then after walking to the balcony of the duomo he let us split into those that wanted to do the dome climb, and those that did not. Very nice to have the option especially for groups with younger or older folks not wanting to add the additional 200+ steps to the tour. We opted to go to the top and wow... definitely worth it. Not nearly as physically taxing as St Peter’s dome but still an amazing view!
