Your 5-day Turkey adventure begins with a convenient airport transfer from either of Istanbul's two major airports to your central Istanbul hotel. If you are in Istanbul already, choose a hotel-to-hotel transfer instead. Either way, your trip will be off to a smooth start.
First, orient yourself in Istanbul, one of Turkey’s most fascinating cities. Your professional guide will inform you about much of the enthralling history and various ruling empires that have risen and fallen here throughout the ages. On a full-day tour, visit the main sites while getting a feel for Turkey’s hospitable culture. Then, venture off to the ancient cities of Gallipoli and Troy, where you’ll visit historic battlefields and Roman ruins. Conclude with an Istanbul Airport transfer or a transfer to another Istanbul hotel.
Your tour includes three nights’ accommodation in Istanbul and one nights’ accommodation in Çanakkale. Your 4-star hotels are centrally located for maximum convenience, and you’ll have plenty of time to explore both towns at leisure in between excursions.

Day 1: Istanbul
After arrival at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure; perhaps visit Istanbul’s Ottoman mosques or Byzantine churches, or experience the frenzy of its world-famous souks (markets).

Overnight: 4-Star Albatros Premier Hotel or Momento Hotel in Istanbul

Day 2: Istanbul (B, L)
Enjoy breakfast and then set off for a full-day tour of Istanbul by luxury minibus, taking in the city highlights. First stop is the Blue Mosque – an ornate mosque that rules Istanbul’s skyline with its six minarets. Explore inside with your guide and marvel at the ceiling, consisting nearly entirely of vivid blue tiles, hence the mosque’s name. Continue to Hagia Sophia, Istanbul’s Byzantine Church that was once a mosque and is now a museum. Stroll around inside and admire its Christian-period mosaics and Ottoman-era relics.

After a break for a typical Turkish lunch of soup, meatballs or chicken and fresh fruit in town, continue your tour with a visit to Topkapi Palace – Turkey’s largest palace and most important museum with countless relics from the 15th to the 19th centuries. Learn of the extravagant sultans who once lived here and then walk through town to see the Hippodrome, where raucous chariot races once took place. Spend your evening at leisure in Istanbul.

Overnight: 4-Star Albatros Premier Hotel or Momento Hotel in Istanbul

Day 3: Istanbul – Gallipoli (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast, pack up and leave your Istanbul hotel to travel south by minibus to Çanakkale – the perfect seaside base for visiting Gallipoli. On arrival, drop off your bags at your hotel and then depart for an afternoon tour of the Gallipoli battlefield sites of World War I.

During the war, the allied forces launched an offensive attack here with the aim of capturing Constantinople. The mission failed, and the battlefields, once the scene of bloodshed and turmoil, are now serene with memorials to fallen soldiers from both sides of the battle lines. Visit Anzac Cove, where the more notable battles were fought, and see Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial. Other important sites visited with your guide include Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, Ari Burnu Cemetery and Johnston’s Jolly – home to original Allied and Turkish trenches. Return to Çanakkale for dinner in your hotel and spend your evening at leisure.

Overnight: 4-Star Truva Hotel or Iris Hotel in Çanakkale

Day 4: Çanakkale – Troy – Istanbul (B)
Relax over breakfast in your hotel before check out, and then visit Çimenlik Fortress in Çanakkale – a 15th-century stronghold that was built to control shipping. Now operating as a military museum, the fortress is fascinating to explore. See military equipment from the Ottoman era and artifacts from WWI. The replica Nusret mine layer ship, which played an integral part in WWI, is nearby and is now open as a museum. Head inside and get a glimpse of life on board a battleship.

After lunch in Çanakkale (own expense), meet your guide and travel to the ancient city of Troy for an afternoon of walking around its crumbling ruins. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Troy dates back nearly 4,000 years. On a walking tour, hear tales of the Trojan War – an important Greek mythological story – and learn about the Trojan prince (Paris) who ran away with Zeus’ daughter (Helen) and sparked the lengthy war. After exploring, visit the wooden Trojan Horse that symbolizes the town and the Trojan War, and then head back to Istanbul for the night. Stop during on the journey for dinner (own expense).

Overnight: 4-Star Albatros Premier Hotel or Momento Hotel in Istanbul

Day 5: Istanbul (B)
Enjoy breakfast, and then the morning is yours to spend at leisure in Istanbul – perhaps shopping for souvenirs or sightseeing independently. At a pre-arranged time in the afternoon, check out of your hotel and finish your tour with a transfer to either of Istanbul's two major airports or another Istanbul hotel.

Great trip! Even though it was short and covered 3 separate destinations, it didn't feel rushed or cramped at all.
The 1st day covering Istanbul won't take up all day; so you'll have time to self-explore.
The 2nd day drive to Galipolli is long, but worth it.
Troy on the 3rd day was just perfect! :)

Excellent tour for the extended stop-over in Turkey. Will do the big trip once Syria settles down.

It was a very nicely planned trip. Guides were very Knowledgeable and hotels which were provide were pretty good. Only thing which bothered us was food that was being provided. There were no options other than kabobs. We really enjoyed Turkey!

very good all round. only comments are
1. the early pick up for trip to Gallipoli, our hotel would not allow us to have an early breakfast.
2. because we were just 5 in our group, we elected to change the itinerary to go straight to troy and then return to canackle, thereby arriving back into Istanbul at the decent hour of 6pm - saving approx 3hrs.

Overall i would give 4 1/2 stars. Our guides (Ahmet-Blue Mosuq Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Tour, Hasan-Gallipoli,Anzac Tour and Burak - Troy Tour) were wonderful. The the visit to the fortress in the morning of day 4 was a tad disappointing as we were guided by someone who barely knew how to speak english although he seemed very nice. Felt like the fortress tour was just a filler and keep us occupied prior to the afternoon tour of troy. Transfers were seemless, first hotel that we stayed at was adequate. The hotel at Cannakalle was very good. There wasnt much variety being offered for breakfast in both hotels but i already knew that from other reviews so it didnt really matter. Location of our hotel in Istanbul (Antik Hotel) was perfect, twas only a 5 minute walk to the grand bazaar.
