I came from Johannesburg to Kruger. A very long day yet worth it and more!! The driver/guide was professional. We had a great time talking. High point if the day was photogrphing a lion watching over a fresh giraffe kill. Wow!! Moment to Denver!!!
This tour is super exhausting - we already knew that. We would stay 10 hours on the road and 3 hours doing the safari. But it's kinda worse than this. We left our hotel at 5h30, picked more people at two other hotels and left Joburg around 7h only, getting to the park at 11am. The game driver was late about 10min and left us waiting for half an hour more. After this wait, he made a speech with all the recommendations - what to do, what not to do etc. And we finally started the tour at 12, at 38 degrees - of course we wouldn't be seeing many animals. When it's too hot they hide. Unfortunately we only saw zebras, hippos (hiding in the water), (LOTS of) impalas, elephants and baboons. That was all. About the 3h game drive, it's a joke. We ended at 3h30 - but we stopped at 1pm for lunch!!! Got back to the tour only at 2h30, meaning only 2 hours of game drive. On our way in, there is no two stops for breakfast - our guide Emma stopped in a gas station to grab us coffee or hot chocolate and that was all - the only stop. So I do not recommend this tour at all.
If you have little time in Joburg, go to the Lion's Park, spend the whole day there - this is much more pleasant than the incredible Kruger - that's a shame this tour is so poorly organized, it was supposed to be incredible, like the place is.
I suggest Viator contact them to make them leave at 3am from the hotels, making people getting to the park at 7-8, what makes it easier to find the Big 5.
