What an experience we had. It was a small group just us four and our amazing tour guide Josue !!! The horses were so sweet and fairly easy to ride this is my first horseback riding experience. The trail is nice, beautiful views of nature and the open range. We had an option to go down to the La Fortuna Waterfall which if you do not go with the tour do yourself a favor and see this waterfall !!!!!!!!!!!. It was 500 steps down and 500 to come back up. It was a little much for people who are not use to such physical exertion, but it was worth it !!!!!!!!! Some of the most spectacular views and pics were taken at the waterfall base and through out the trail. I recommend those quick dry shirts and gear and a wet suit so when you get to the bottom you can go for a swim WARNING THE WATER IS FREEZING ... but go in anyways ! Also wear sturdy old shoes, they get a lot of mud and dirty on them. Highly recommended, we had a BLAST !!!!!!!! Thanks Josue and our beautiful, STRONG horses ! LOL

What an awesome experience! Our group was indeed small five guests led by two guides, who were knowledgeable about the area and were superb horsemen. We saw monkeys, sloths and toucans, as well as cacao, coffee, coconut and banana trees/plants. The ride took us to two waterfalls and into the river twice. Our guides were great about taking photos and shooting video so that we have forever memories of the day. I would not recommend this tour for individuals with no riding experience or those who are not comfortable with horses. There is the expectation that participants have some experience and are at ease in the saddle. The trails are rocky, muddy and steep, and on the tour we walked, trotted and galloped. I'll admit I was slightly terrified at times, but in an exhilarating way. I had complete confidence in the sturdy, surefooted horses and our experienced guides. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes/boots that can get muddy and wet. Bring a bottle of water, as none is provided on the tour.
