When I ordered six tickets the ad said hotel pick up. Since we were staying in the MGM Grand I thought there should be no problem with hotel pick up. after I placed the order, I was informed they did not pick up at the MGM. I should been told this before I ordered the tickets. We had to walk 2 miles at 6:00 in the morning to a hotel where they did pick up.
Well worth the price! Driver was Derek on the love bus and he is amazing! Highly recommend! Had a quick stop at the Hoover Dam, cool little stop on Route 66 with a mural to Disney's Cars for a lunch break, and finally seeing the Grand Canyon was breathtaking! There are plugs on the bus for a phone charger. Want a cheap trip to the Grand Canyon? Choose this! Well worth it and Derek has lots of information in the areas we drove through and stopped at.
The bus ride from Vagas to The Grand Canyon might cause you to consider if it's worth it or not. I personally hesitated before deciding to sign-up. Nooooo regrets our bus driver made really entertaining. He was more the the tour guide during our drive than simply our bus driver. He had trivia for us, promotional videos on places we were passing by or going to see. 21yrs of experience gave him insight on the tour that he generously shared throughout the trip. Our bus driver was the cherry on top.Hope you Enjoy your trip as much as we did
On the way to the Grand Canyon we stoped at three locations. First at The Hoover Dam, you'll have to take the pictures from inside the bus, because from the stop location the view wasn't that good. The other stops were a restaurant at Route 66 and the Historic Route 66 Museum, but the time on those locations where too short, you barely have time to see the attractions. My suggestion would be to take one of these two last mentioned stop out of the program and give more time to visitors in only one of them.
Now the Grand Canyon is amazing. The views are breathtaking. If you can, make the trail to Bright Angel, it's easy to walk, pavemented, just don't forget to bring water.
The day before the tour I called about the pickup time. They told me they were working on the schedule and would email me. I told them I didn’t have email access and they said they would text me. No text was sent, so we arrived at the pickup location at 6:00 a.m. instead of the 6:25 a.m. pick up time.Departed at 6:25. Usually tours have a tour guide and a driver. This tour company only provided a driver and some videos. Unfortunately they didn’t give the driver an auxiliary cable to connect the system. We stopped at 2 places to buy a cable. The long bus trip (another driver said it should have been 5 hours) was 7 hours and 15 minutes. The driver started the video and we had to watch it twice, no tour commentary. Not a good tour. The stops that were scheduled as part of the tour were tourist gift shops and not impressive. We made a stop for a box lunch. Mine had wilted lettuce and dried out bread on the sandwich. Had to watch 2 "stupid" movies (Napolean Dynamite and School of Rocki for entertainment. We got to the Grand Canyon at about 1:40 p.m. and had the option of walking about 2 miles or getting back on the bus and riding to the Angel Lodge. We chose to return to the bus. Got on the bus at 2:30, only to discover the air conditioning wasn’t working. Another bus gave us a ride to the Angel Lodge. At 4:30, the Angel Lodge pickup time, the original bus picked us up. No A/C. We rode for a while. Driver stopped several times to try to get the tour company to help her and people on the tour tried to help too. We did a scheduled dinner stop at In-n-Out Burgers at 8:15 p.m. Another bus arrived at 9:15 p.m.to transport us to Las Vegas. (They were more concerned about getting it to the mechanic so it would be available for tomorrow’s tours than our comfort) Got back to the hotel at 10:45 p.m.Only good thing I can say was we got to see the Grand Canyon. I booked this trip for 8 people and was very embarrassed by the quality they got for the money.
Although this was a long day, it was really worth it! We were picked up at the hotel next door at 6am and had a very friendly and fun driver, Robert, who made the coach journey go faster! We had a stop at the Hoover Dam, then two further stops in 'Lightening McQueen country' on Route 66 which was great and broke the journey up. On one of these stops, we were given our packed lunch which was just right - a choice of ham, turkey or veg sandwich, cookie, crisps an apple and water. During the journey there was an informative documentary about the history of the Hoover Dam and The Grand Canyon. Once we arrived at The Grand Canyon, we were given more water for our 2.5 mile walk around the rim of the canyon. The walk itself is very easy and gives absolutely breathtaking views of the Canyon. It is startling how close you can get to the edge, with many tourists sitting on the very edge with feet dangling over arghhhh!!! We ended up at the agreed meeting point in good time and enjoyed an icecream before getting back on the coach. The journey back only stopped once at In and Out Burger for tea. There was a film on for entertainment, but most people slept! The only thing I would advise is to take a jumper for on the coach as the air conditioning makes it quite chilly! All in all it was an amazing trip, one that we will remember for a long time.
This trip was booked for a group of 8 for an after celebration for our wedding in Las Vegas. This trip consisted of our combined children (adult and teen mix) and my parents. While the sites were absolutely amazing, and our driver Derek was AWESOME, I have to say that I was overall very disappointed with the handling of our trip. We were picked up about 45 minutes late on a small bus that took us to our main bus at another hotel. We then got onto an already cramped bus and were forced to sit in whatever open seats were left. Everyone that we came in contact with that worked for the tour knew that we were a group of 8. I would think that 8 seats could have been blocked off knowing this was a larger group. So the 8 of us were forced to scatter across a full bus. Thankfully we were not traveling with small children otherwise this would have made things even more difficult. We are not large people and the bus itself made coach on the airlines look more like first class. Again, this tour was exactly what was advertised and we were very happy with the destinations and our amazing driver Derek, but make note that if you are attempting to make this a
